French National Team (with Tony Parker) - 1:00 Saturday
The French play Finland Saturday at 1:00 Spurs time. Tony Parker, Ian Mahinmi, and SpurNando are all on the team.
If you go to EuroBasket at game time, you should be able to find a link to a live updated widget. There might be live feeds available so you can watch.
Also playing for the French are Boris Diaw (Charlotte Bobcats), Rony Turiaf (Golden State Warriors) and Nicolas Batum (Portland Trail Blazers).
The Finnish Petteri Koponen (first round pick of the Portland Trail Blazers) and former Utah Ute Hanno Mattola.
With two Portland guys in the game you can expect that the Blazers Edge people will be all over this game as well.

Summer Legue Part 2?
Well its only one game, but there’s still time to make it ATS!…. I have to visit grandparents this weekend, but I’m gonna try and go take a very long nap right around that time and slip away to somewhere with wireless internet.
What I’m most interested in is how much playing time each of our guys gets. I don’t know how good the Finnish team is and whether this game will be competitive or not, but I’ll be watching Tony’s minutes and I want to see if Ian was brought back to see some real playing time or if France brought him back for (what’s French for garbage?) min.
"Ordure" or "detritus" is french for garbage
btw, does anyone know what time it’ll be in France when the game starts?
its been a while since i got to see them play and I wouldnt want to miss another game this summer.
oh, and Finland hasnt really a good team, so dont expect too much competitiveness…
8:00.

Ton’y starting, apparently. Along with Batum, Pietrus(the other one), Diaw and Turiaf. Why is France not one of the best teams in Europe with a lineup like that?
Re-sign Bruce Bowen!
My guess is because they haven’t played together a lot the way the Spanish and other teams have. Plus, they have no depth.

True, but Spurnando is still young. He is not the full flower he will eventually blossom into.

Tony shot a three-pointer. And missed. *rimshot

First shot Tony makes: a layup, of course.

I imagine they’re being cautious. Or is that “hope”?

Bruno at ST posted this, but said it will only work for the first half
Re-sign Bruce Bowen!
Hmmm, interesting that Tony didn’t come back in the game.

Tony isn’t starting the second half. I’m guessing something is afoot.

That was LatinD’s idea. I’m merely a pawn in his schemes.

By the way, it was ATS’s choice all the way.

Uh-huh. I’m really surprised they even bothered to play him against a team like Finland.

France wins 82-72.
Nando had a decent game. Batum scored a lot. Tony played all of 5:16.
Re-sign Bruce Bowen!
I’m glad Tony only played a few minutes and France still won. Hopefully, this will stop any controversy. Would have liked Ian to get some minutes.
