Question for Chilai: Is following a EuroBasket qualifying tournament more or less pathetic than talking about the schedule?

More.
In other news, Argentina spanked Brazil last night and Scola played well.

Thanks… Here is the quick version of it.

I hope France pulls it off. If they win the whole issue with Parker dissipates faster

France up 3 with 20 seconds left in OT.

Italy turned it over. France ball with 14 seconds left. I’d say that’ll do it, but I remember Celtics-Spurs this past season…
Re-sign Bruce Bowen!
Pietrus was a similar kind of monster according to the numbers

Belinelli had 26 for the Italians.
Batum and F. Pietrus had 20 for the French. A lot of Batum’s points came late.

Let me help you with a quote from Manu’s wikipedia:
He is also the first non-U.S. player to win both the NBA championship ring and the Olympic gold medal, and only the second Latin American to be selected to play in an NBA All-Star game (after Panama’s Rolando Blackman).

What do Renaldo Balkman and Rolando Blackman have to do with each other?

I was just messing with you for the shameless promotion of your Panamanian heritage. Do you guys have any identifying socialization characteristics we can mock like writing in ALL CAPS?

And even though I heard the name before I never realized that he was actually a good NBA player. During my childhood I dont remember anyone being excited about him. It turns out I could have been a Maverick fan if people in Panama were a little more proud. It was just shocking to finally figure all this out.

Rolando had an exceptional NBA career. He wasn’t just a borderline guy. I’d say he was about like Ray Allen. A very good shooting guard.

I remember watching a late game when I was a kid (must have been a Friday or Saturday night, otherwise, I’d never have been allowed to be up so late) Houston at Dallas, and he was just killing the Rockets from all over the court — but what stands out is a couple of shots he nailed from the corner. I was way too young to comprehend offensive & defensive tactics. I just remember wondering how he could get open over and over for those shots, and how they all seemed to go in.

When I was writing the above, it made me remember another Rockets game I watched on TV in grade school. An overtime game in Denver, back when they had the old jerseys . First time I ever heard Rock and Roll Part 2. And they played it at every timeout (of which there were many) to the point that I thought that it must be the Nuggets’ fight song or something.
The main recollections are of the crowd going nuts as they waited to shout during the pauses in the song, and I remember English hitting all these jumpers while I was just tied up in knots over whether or not Houston would pull the game out.
I don’t think they did, but I sure remember that song
