Actually, 4Him, I was writing a post about Spencer Haywood and I found out he was kind of the precursor of the let’s-get-’em-younger movement, because he was the first player that made the NBA before being of age for college graduation.

Yes, but Haywood did play two years of college ball (and in the Olympics), so he had more experience than even the Kevin Durants of today who go to college for one year before making the jump. Malone was the first of the few who successfully went straight from high school.
Nevertheless, the Spencer Haywood story is a very interesting one (inc. freebasing during the Finals?) – you should bring it over here.
