Around SBN: Has Kentucky Improved Since the Non-Conference Season?

an ongoing series of various things during the offseason. TD is #4. Somehow Garnett is #1. I think the person making the list forgot about the first part of the decade, as a lot of people on the list were nobody's and/or not the players they are now. whatever.

what are your thoughts?

I know we’re biased, but I think both TD and Bowen should be ranked even higher. As the top wing defender, Bruce should definitely be in the top five.

I definately think that both TD and Bruce should be ranked higher, I am biased, also. Artest should be lower, Ben Wallace- eh, I’d have to say lower too…but the did win DPOY 4 times? (which is arguable in itself!), Battier…make him a Spur! KG- LOWER! I was pleasently surprised to see him on the list, but I’d say the 10 spot is fair, if anything.

Someone had a response on 48MoH the other day about bringing Captain Kirk to the Spurs…would anyone be too opposed to that? I’ve seen him play quite a bit over the past few years, and I think he’s solid. The guy will play defense, and he does not grip about playing time (see: Derrick Rose coming aboard last year and taking his starting spot.) I believe he’s battled a few injuries. But, I’d have to say he’s pretty consistent- no flashy numbers, but you know what you’re going to get every night.

Dunno if i agree with the list in terms of one to ten. But everyone looks good though. ( Ive always though Ben wallace was overrated)

Kirk Heinrich a top ten defender of the last decade ? I dont watch nearly as much ball as alot of people….but Kirk Heinrich ?

I wouldnt mind Kirk on the spurs, but I dunno if he breaks the top ten of the last decade….

Check out Kobe’s shoe in the pic with Bruce defending him. I know he’s putting a lot of force down into the floor, but that’s an awful lot of shoe that’s nowhere near staying on the sole of his foot.

This must be a post-Colorado picture. No way Nike let’s him suffer with those kinds of shoes while he was a marquee guy for them.

I haven’t seen Kirk play all that much, but I think he’s the only weak link in this list. Ranking is another thing (Bowen and Duncan should be higher, KG lower), but those nine players are pretty good defensively.
