Locked and (Re)Loaded for 2010 (Whoop!)

How goes it, my fellow PtRers?

No special reason for this post, but I just wanted to let y'all know that even though I haven't posted much (read: at all) since the Silver and Black's premature postseason exit, I've still been reading and watching the community grow, albeit from the shadows of Bryan/College Station TX.

Plenty of other stuff going on to distract me from the Pride of the Great Lone Star State, though.  I grew to be quite good at disappearing from the house during my dads' laker games once the Spurs were done lol.  I was glad to see a tradition of sorts continue in my house, though--every year since '99 (excepting '06), either my Spurs or my dad's lakers have been playing in June.  It was good to see him happy.  Yours truly, on the other hand, got a part-time job for the summer, changed majors (again), and am talking my gf through Air Force field training through my mad letter writing skills (she's hanging tough so far).  Throw persistent car troubles on top of that, and the dog days of summer feel longer than ever!

However, the best part of reading PtR this summer has been seeing Pop and the FO reload the Spurs as smoothly as an infantryman reloads his M-16.  This has definitely been one of the most exciting offseasons in recent memory, and while I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, it's certainly not a stretch to think of SA as serious contenders to win the chip next year.  I've always admired RJ, and I couldn't believe it when I heard we'd picked up Blair.  Add the appropriately named Antonio McDyess to the mix, and I can't help but be heartened in knowing that the Big Three will have reliable help available for the upcoming season.  It's truly an exciting time to be a Spurs fan!

Finally, I want to extend a woefully belated welcome to the members who've joined the the past few months.  I look forward to getting to know y'all through this blog--it's definitely the best Spurs blog on the net.

GO SPURS GO!!

haha, so true. I almost forgot how good the FO was until they reminded me this offseason. Good post. You and your old man must have some heated discussions. Does he hate the Spurs and find them boring? Haha, it’s weird when older people call a team boring.

Thanks for the kind words, y’all (yes, even you, bacon51 lol). What can I say? I’m a senior at A&M this upcoming year and the son of an Aggie Former Student, not to mention I live 15 minutes from the University, so my posts will indeed reek of Maroon and White this year, though I will do my best to tone it down on PtR.

…..btw, although my dad and I do have heated bball discussions, for the record, he actually predicted the Spurs’ ’05 and ’07 rings well in advance of the postseason, so I have to give him his due, I guess!
