this is where the spurs kinda mess up sometimes..they don’t pull out all the stops when trying to recruit free agents. and i think now we definitely need sheed since the fu$*ing flakers are getting artest.

..oh i forgot to mention that if i were the spurs i would mention the apparent rift between rondo and ainge and ask sheed if he thinks that locker room will be stable.hehe

I know some of us envy the way how the Celtics are approaching this, but not me. They look so desperate, I think they’re nearing the point when they’d get down on their knees and ask ‘Sheed to pretty please sign with them. I don’t really know much about it, but I’d speculate that the Spurs FO are more professional about these things, and I think they really keep it real – lay out to the free agent the pluses and minuses of joining the team. They don’t just bring their stars from the get-go and beg someone to join them.

Maybe this kind of professionalism, honesty and integrity in going about free agent recruitment won’t appeal to other players – particularly those who are in “me” mode – but I guess if they can’t appreciate that then they probably don’t deserve to be a Spur. It’ll be interesting to see how much class this Rasheed Wallace guy has. Sometimes that thirst for a championship can be blinding and will make a player put other aspects by the wayside.
