"San Antonio Spurs
Tim Duncan at center. Antonio McDyess at one forward spot and Manu Ginobili at the other. Roger Mason and Tony Parker at the guard spots. Richard Jefferson as sixth man of the year. With "Walk TPG" still intact and (hopefully) healthy, Pop can experiment with McDyess at power forward (moving Duncan to center on occasion might be a smart move on the back end of his career) and run Mason at the 2 as Ginobili and Jefferson share minutes and scoring. Off the bench, Jefferson (canceled wedding and all) can be more dangerous scoring 15 points per game than he was in Jersey or Milwaukee putting up 20 ppg, and he's a great insurance policy in case Ginobili goes down again. Almost more important, Matt Bonner. If he continues to play well and can spell minutes for Duncan and McDyess, the Lakers will have trouble in the West."

Interesting he sees Manu as a starter and RJ as the sixth man and places a great deal of importance on Bonners potential contributions.

The big question is: Scoop of what?

the saddest thing is that he gets paid to write shit like that. a 10year old can write something better than this.

He’s says a Lakers repeat is inevitable, unless Odom signs elsewhere – otherwise Lebron(on the third best team in the East) wins it all, according to him. After reading that at the end, I realized I had just lost 2 minutes of my life that I’ll never get back.

He also lists Marion as a guard for Dallas. Innit weird?

First I hope my sarcasmometer is on the fritz, cuz this guy definitely knows a few things about Manu Ginobili and the Spurs. While I don’t necessarily agree with all of his comments, I do value his opinion…

and this is why…

That was a great article, but it was more a character piece than proper basketball commentary.

Which is what Scoop’s best at anyway. I remember reading that article back then. I think this part was my fave:

There will never be another “50” in San An. But if Ginobili keeps playing like the best international player with no NCAA experience ever to join the NBA, the statement will change to this: Tim Duncan got only two rings with David Robinson. Ginobili was with him for all the rest.
