Well now we have RJ’s backup. Who gets third string?
Bring back Bruce, and free James Gist!

But how do you really feel, LD?
This is good news, btw.

Oh, hey Finley. Yeah, yeah, I heard. Great to have you back, man.

Meh. He better not be playing 30 + minutes this year. He needs to have the same role Bruce had in the 2008-2009 season.

Iām also glad he is coming back. The only problem I see in him is the fact that he plays extended minutes. With RJ on board he will be used 10-20 minutes and/or in specific situations when shooters are needed.
Exactly as it happened with RJ and the 2010 Free Agency, we might not get the best we could but we got something good (for a backup) and we got it now. As opposed to a "maybe".
He should be put in for a few minutes to see if he’s hot, and if he’s not, taken out immediately.

On this page, like a game thread, as you’re reading and typing, other messages automatically post and you can see and read them without having to hit ‘refresh’.

Yes, but I thought there was more to what Shifty said. Hmm.. I think this offseason has me expecting too much with everything.
by silverandblack_davis on Jun 30, 2009 8:44 PM CDT up reply actions
agreed
He can (usually) knock em down when he needs to. So I think its worth the “gamble” of resigning him, to keep a proven shooter on the team and hit some clutch shots if Manu/Roger can’t get open.
Lets be clear here. The Spurs did not resign him, he only exercised an option for one more year on a previous contract. It was not the Spurs choice, nor they could do anything to prevent him from deciding to stay. I only say this because some comments seem are made as if he comes INTO the team instead of REMAINING in it.
The fact that we have RJ makes this acceptable
otherwise, id be on the phone looking for Dale Ellis
Okay, just so I understand it... in your wildest fantasy, you are in hell. And you are co-running a bed and breakfast with the devil.
yay backup SF is set
Hairston or Marcus Williams will play third, thus giving us the SF depth I’ve been waiting for. Now we just need a good center and we’ll be set to tear it up in 09.

April 15th, how soon they forget...
Everybody is so ho-hum about this. Do I really need to remind us all of the Finley-generated excitement around this place following his 3 pointer in the last game of the season, against the NOOCHIES as time expired — how it saved the game and sent it into overtime?
I recall seeing dozens of comments along the lines of, “I’ll never bash Finley again” and “Long live Billy Ocean” and “I want to be his Caribbean Queen” well, maybe not the last one, but still (CapHill, bellasa or Lauri might have thought it.)
Let’s try to be a bit less fickle, shall we? It’s not like he’s being slated as the starter. I say he’ll do fine in a limited role of sharpshooting and lockdown average passable defense.
Finally, did any of us seriously think that he’d be passing up this money?

and I’m so stoked he’s back. As a backup SF, we can’t ask for much better. He’s better than anything we would have got FA wise without blowing our MLE.

And I KNOW that we didn’t have much to say here; I’m not implying that this was the result of a tearful plea by the FO. I’m just angry that some people don’t realize when they’re not needed or wanted. It’s our failure at PtR really. If only we’d done a better job of getting him to read about himself as written by us, then quite possibly we wouldn’t have seen him exercise this option.

ATS speaks the truth on this matter.
Also, let it be known that SiMA got me a Bud Light as well. What did I get him? A 6-pack of Shiner Commemorative Edition all the way from Austin, since I knew him to be a fan of the Shiner and thought he would enjoy this latest incarnation. Had I known he would bring me a giant plastic cup filled with toilet water, I might have rethought my generosity.

It’s a dad telling his kids the longest story ever on how he met their mother. Lots of quotable stuff (which I thought you’d like), plus Neil-Effing-Patrick Harris (of Doogie Howser fame) playing the role of a pickup guru when in real life he’s gay? Second: The line is, "He chose … poorly. It makes a difference.
Third: When watching this clip again, the first thing I noticed is that when his hair starts to grow so quickly, there’s a sound effect that just seems misplaced to me — it’s almost like the sound of a stretching balloon. Very odd choice from the foley artist.
Fourth: I’d forgotten how long he draws out ‘poooorly’ in that line. It’s so scrumptious.
Fifth: She gets so hysterical with her screaming that she can’t even separate herself from a decomposing corpse that’s in the process of breaking down into dust? And this is the same woman who … Never mind. Indy pushes her away. WTG, Indy. You saved her from dirt.

Coca Cola Enterprises (CCE) is our client. They handle all of the bottling and distribution of Coca Cola. But interestingly enough, CCE is a completely different company than Coca Cola. Yeeah, people keep mentioning it as an all-time great, but I watched an ep here and there, and the humor didn’t grab me. One reason I love The Office is because of the romantic streak in it – I’m a sucker for romance. Definitely give it another chance. There are some weak episodes here and there, and I could see if you saw those you’d give up on it, but I’m telling you, that is the funniest show I’ve ever seen.
Another of my favorite shows: Firefly. It’s hard to describe: it’s set in the future, and there are spaceships, but really it’s more like a western. The best analogy I could use would be to imagine if there was a show about Han Solo and his adventures smuggling things, avoiding bounty hunters, etc., on the Millennium Falcon (before the events of Star Wars).
The show was stupidly canceled (just like Arrested Development), but the cult following was so strong they made a movie (again, just like A.D.), Serenity, that tied up some of the loose ends. The movie’s really good, too, but I’d advise starting with the tv show.
It really pisses me off that those two shows got canceled when you see some of the ridiculous garbage that doesn’t get canceled.
