Poll: Celtics vs. Magic
The defending Champ, and #2 seeded Boston Celtics barely escaped a 7 game series against the Chicago Bulls. Orlando closed out the Philadelphia 76ers in 6, but not without a few injuries to some key players along the way. Kevin Garnott is out for this series. Dwight Howard (suspended) and Courtney Lee (sinus) sat out in the blowout win over Philly. Boston has home-court advantage. This series has the potential to be a great one, as well.
Game 1: Magic 95, Celtics 90 Box Score
Game 2: Celtics 112, Magic 94 Box Score
Game 3: Magic 117, Celtics 96 Box Score
Game 4: Celtics 95, Magic 94 Box Score
Game 5: Celtics 92, Magic 88 Box Score
Game 6: Magic 83, Celtics 75 Box Score
Game 7: Magic 101, Celtics 82 Box Score
Magic win series 4-3.

man this is a tough one, but I think all those overtimes might wear on the Celts with their old legs. Also, besides Eddie House, Boston literally has no bench. Mikki Moore, Starbury, Scalabrine altogether will not provide more than 15 points on any given night, on top of the fact that they suck on defense too.

the Spurs do not defeat you so much as they grind you into tiny shards of psychological wreckage.

Ugh. Hard to think this will live up to Bulls-Celtics even though most games will likely be close. I’m not convinced Orlando is tough enough to take the series when it hangs in the balance, i.e. a 2-2 game 5 in Boston or game 7 in Boston. But this is their chance cause the Celtics should become even more exhasuted as this series goes along.
I say Celtics scrape by in 7, leaving nothing in the tank for Cleveland.

Magic in 6, I imagine. Howard should have a field day against Perkins and Davis.
(BTW, the Magics’ logo is AWOL.)

Perks can guard him pretty damn well, but if he gets in foul trouble and they have to rely on Mikki moore, glen davis and scalabrine to guard Dwight and run around trying to guard Rashard.
Magic will probably have trouble with Bostons wings though. They have no answer for Allen (reddick?) and from what i’ve heard, Pierce doesn’t really have trouble scoring on Hedo

Woops! I just noticed it now, and totally misinterpreted what LD said earlier. I made this post at work. That may be the problem. Not sure…but I shall fix it very soon! Thank you for pointing that out. ;)
And what do ya know…Orlando held on tonight!

Okay, as long as they win it in 7, I’m happy !
Watched the game, hard to guess. Celtics looked like crap, but managed to rally back after being down so far. Orlando looked a little tentative to me in the second half. Allen had a horrible game, couldn’t happen to a better whiner.
Timmy D .... enough said.
can’t be giving away leads like that. they stopped being aggressive and started raining//clanking 3s. Didn’t get to watch much since i have finals, but that is what it looked like.
Don’t expect Allen to shoot like that again. Freakin JJ Reddick outscored him

I think Magic-Celts game 1 shows just how hard what the Spurs did last season can be: ending a seven game series and turning around both physically and emotionally to start a new series in two days, though unlike Boston didn’t finish or begin at home, instead spending a night on the New Orleans tarmac.
To think our guys dominated gm 1 of the WCF on the road with a 50% Manu for three quarters… ahh, what woulda been last year with just a healthy Manu, to say nothing of a competent airline.
You gotta bring ass to get ass.
