What would you do if you were booted off of PtR?
This is what happens to late-May FanPosts when the Spurs have been eliminated from the playoffs. Thoughts turn dark, and the unthinkable is contemplated.
As the silliness continued over at the latest Gist and Angelico thread, SiMA joked that a certain questionable line of conversation would end with people finding that they were no longer able to log in to Pounding the Rock tomorrow morning.
While humorously meant, the thought caused the hair to stand up on the back of my neck, and three of my children simultaneously woke up with nightmares and had to be calmed down. What, I wondered, would most of us do if we were suddenly unable to participate in this blog of blogs?
So it's time to chime in. Imagine your worst case scenario, whether it's "everybody started hating on me and I eventually had to quit posting or lurking" or "I woke up and PtR didn't exist any more" or "David Stern said he'd cancel the NBA season unless I gave up blogging on PtR immediately." Outline whatever reason that would cause you to completely lose PtR as a source of entertainment and thought provocation -- and then say what you would do as a result.

I’m thinking Louis Winthorpe III.

I’m saying I’d be like Louis when the Dukes took away all his money.

Productive
I’d probably be a lot more productive at work and what not. I spend way to much time reading and commenting here.

Big 50 has it right. Besides being very very upset, I’d probly get a lot more done at work, but my mind would be here first. I’d miss it, more than anything. I talk more basketball and stuff here with you decent folks than anyone else, not because I’m a huge dork (I keep telling myself), but because that’s just that hand I’m playing with now.
Wait now…you’re not ‘thinning the heard’ here now, are you?? (just kidding!)

That makes two of us. Although I’d probably just find another way to actively obsess about the Spurs

I might as well prepare for it since it’s bound to happen sooner or later.

Same as Big50, productive plus go back to writing Spurs emails to my brother and friends and looking at stats. Try to find anything to read about UT football or UT players in the NFL and not be productive.

well since there's absolute nothing going on with the Spurs right now
I’d do what I’ve been doing since game 5, not being on here. Sorry I haven’t been on more guys but I’m not inspired to be on.
Till stuff actually happens.

48MoH is doing some excellent combine/draft coverage that has been keeping me really excited about Spurs stuff still. The only problem is that they paint such a pretty picture of every guy, I’m like “lets get him” and then I read about the next guy….

Yep, it’s been enjoyable to read about all those guys, to say the least.
Nichols and Mr. Greek giant stand out in my mind, but I also liked most of the other guys they profiled. Interestingly, it sounds like the Spurs are less than enamored with Danny Green. I didn’t see that coming, i thought he was Pop’s kind of draft pick.

I don’t think I would be any more productive. In fact, I’d probably end up trying to make a new Spurs blog if PtR suddenly went MIA for me.

SpursTalk is a good forum. Its only problem is that that’s what it is: a forum. And I’ve grown tired of the quality of the chat in Internet forums. There’s too much trolling, and the reply-to system is clumsy.
