Rockets / Lakers Poll

Ok, I think it's funny that the poll Lauri posted on the LA/Houston game 6 is still getting voted on.  Oddly enough the Lakers are not getting votes, shocking, I know.  So I want to know how many people waited to vote for a team?  This is just for fun, I'm not trying get on anybody.

Since I don't have 75 words yet, let me mention something.  I am going for Houston, if they lose I'll be going for Orlando, if they lose I'll be going for...Denver?  How odd is that going to feel?  If Denver wins the West or the Finals this year, I don't think I will ever forget when Pop sat our 3 or 4 best players and the Spurs still nearly beat them.

Anyway, VOTE on the poll and be honest.

Poll
Do you vote for the Rockets before the game or did you cheat on Lauri's poll?

I voted Rockets at 4:30pm! So there! j/k :P

I’m really glad the Rockets one. It makes these playoffs just a bit sweeter. Hell, each team has now dropped games both on the road and at home. The ‘experts’ will predict the Lakeshow to close it out in 7, but I just don’t know anymore. Houston has a chance!!!

You RULE for making this poll. I was noticing the same thing this morning and it was cracking me up. I thought about voting for the Rockets from my work computer today, but no. I was wrong baby, wrong wrong wrong, and I’m damn glad of it!

by Lauri on May 15, 2009 10:54 AM CDT reply actions

Glad you like it. There are still people voting on your poll. I bet they’ll keep going until the next game thread. Of course none of them are coming here to be honest about it.

I was right but only because I hate the Lakers so much I refuse to vote for them. Love what Brooks said…We have no chance but we’ll keep trying !!!

Keep trying baby, win or lose, these guys have been the heroes of the post season.

Timmy D .... enough said.

I also voted for the Rockets before the game, which I didn’t even get to watch. If you post another poll, I’ll vote for the Rockets in Game 7 too. I want to see Kobe cry! Somehow my dislike of him has increased this postseason, which I didn’t think was possible. Besides, the Rockets postgame comments are much more entertaining. 5 dollar footlongs and NBA socks!

by CapHill on May 15, 2009 12:01 PM CDT reply actions

I gotta co-sign with the Kobe comments. In game 2, he’s yelling and preening, “He can’t guard me!!!” I noticed he wasn’t screaming that last night. While my distaste for Kobe has increased, so has my admiration for Shane Battier. What a pro. He’s a guy that deserves a championship at some point of his career.

+1 on Shane Battier… I’ve even overcome the Duke factor.

I don’t think I want him to win a chip until he bounces to the Spurs after a nasty break-up with the Houston front office. Not Shane’s fault of course.

I voted for the Rockets before the game started…. just because I could never vote for the Lakers.

Good post, 5 – 0!

Voted that houston would lose last night. If you put mony on houston to win the series………you might be cashing out soon.

by alamobro on May 15, 2009 7:22 PM CDT reply actions

Is anybody else a little hearbroken/disappointed at seeing the Bostons and Houstons of the postseason rally after losing theyre best player……..

We couldnt rally after losing just our second or third best player……

Whats more is that Boston and Houston are not even done yet…

No, those teams are rallying with young ath-uh-letic players. Paging RC Buford….

Gonna go get my flack jacket on , cause im sure to catch some with what is about to be said…but…

Just how craptacular were we this postseaon??

Every single team in the playoffs would have beaten San ANtonio

EXCEPT

Philly.

Atlanta

New orleans.

MIami

Detroit

……that leaves 10 other teams that would have defeated this years incarnation of the Spurs in a seven game series.

Yea,i said it,

 chicago, portland, Houston, orlando, utah…..

We wont even mention LA,Boston,Cleveland or Denver

I dont mean to disrespect the team and im not giving up on the franchise…

Its just , a SHOCK how truly awful we were this season……Maybe the FO and the players will realize just how bad it was.

I think Manu realizes it… “……it was ugly”

The metore ill be for game 7 to the Fakers bench. While Kobe is on it.

I don’t know what to vote on your poll. This morning I got to work and wanted to see the poll results and voted for Lakers since I can’t admit to thinking the Rockets were going to win beforehand (not even a little). I mean how could anyone think they would win after losing Mutombo?

I just decided on:
“Ok….I just now voted to make us PtR’s look smarter”
because LA was by far the smarter pick….although if I had voted before the game I would have voted for LA and been happy they lost…..

I didnt vote, and that’s all i have to say about that

I actually thought it’d be better. Not bad though. It makes it seem like Kobe is the only vocal person on the court. Including his team mates and his opponents.
