Who's that Lady?

I have been a bit slow at work recently and so I've been browsing the internet and checking PtR more than I should.  The thing I wanted to mention today is the great work being posted all over the place here by Lauri.

From great fan posts about Strategery and that involves, to Laker / Rockets game pre-views and threads here and here, to a very well done recap of game 4 of the LA / Rox.  She has been a busy lady keeping PtR up to date and doing so with some great reading and nice photos to go along (not to mention a nice little video of Phil "Zen Man" Jackson losing his cool).

All of that being said, Lauri, your best find is the fan shot about Tim Duncan.  We forget how good this guy is.  A great read, if you haven't read this you should and then you should rec it and rec it hard.  Here's a little excerpt:

Championship-clinching Game Six of the ‘03 Finals: Duncan put up 21 points, 20 boards, 10 assists and eight blocks, while his counterpart Kenyon Martin goes 3-for-23. That’s a Motherf*cker Game if there ever was one. That same year, in the conference semis-clinching win over the Lakers (ending their hopes of a four-peat), Duncan drops 37 points and 16 boards and had Kobe and Derek Fisher literally crying on the bench at the end.

Those were good times.  Mad props Lauri!  I look forward to hearing what you have to say about the rest of the Fakers / Rockettes series.  Thanks!

Damn, I’m all flustered now.

Thanks for the kind words, but nothing I produce has the analytical power that your regular PtR writers are capable of bringing. I’m just pleased to have a place where I can goof on basketball with cool folks.

Now how does that Lyle Lovett song go?

And if I had a boat
I’d go out on the ocean
And if I had a pony
I’d ride him on my boat
And we could all together
Go out on the ocean
Me upon my pony on my boat

But what does that have to do with anything?

Geez, um, no.

I think it goes something like “She’s no lady”

I nominate Lauri as the Official Head Writer/Author of PtR’s loser threads, and Vice-President of the Office of Awesome Internet Finds, second-in-command to LatinD.

But seriously, Lauri, we appreciate all the good work to keep the site alive during this early offseason. Drink!

I second the nomination – so where’s the loser thread tonight?

by CapHill on May 11, 2009 8:30 PM CDT up reply actions

We can use the H/Town Lakeshow Game 4 recap thread for now :)

Seriously Lauri, your love for the game shines through, I very much enjoy your posts.

Trying to stave off withdrawal with our early exit, I have gone to some of the other blogs…no contest, PtR kicks butt !
