Parker needs to have score first mentality
If we are going to make it anywhere w/o Manu this postseason, and with Timmy's knees the way they are, Parker is going to have to play 35+ hard minutes each game with a score first mentality. Is it just me or does it seem like he can get to the paint willingly, at anytime? As I have been watching these final games down the stretch I have begun to realize that Parker doesn't attempt to get in the lane as much as he should. I'm not saying for him to drive EVERY single time, because our 3-point shooting is what keeps us afloat. But if he would look to drive about 60% of the time our offense would be a force to be reckoned with. The way he was beating Oden and Pryz in the paint early on in the game made me smile because I am hoping, praying that Pop realizes this and pushes Tony to take over every game, instead of having Timmy post up 50% of our offensive plays. Tell me if I am being being too Parker (trigger) happy in my opinion?

Parker is already a score first point guard which is why he is turn over prone when he’s trying to make a play out of the set plays. He’s a good scorer but he’s not unstoppable, he should first learn to make plays for others then pick his spot as to when he needs to score, kinda like Manu does when he’s playing. Being the only big out of the three, it’ll be hard to sustain a scoring effort the whole game in the play-offs because teams are going to be physical. Spurs needs to step up to preserve him if they’re going to have success this season.
Driving
I agree, Parker needs to play well. I think your best point is that he needs to drive more. He settles to often for that 18 foot jumper. When it goes it that’s fine, but all to often it doesn’t and he just gives up. I’d like to see him take it to the hole to start with and any time he’s struggling from the outside.
Exactly
That was the point i was trying to make. He is already a score first pg but sometimes he tries to make ridiculous passes(which are amazing when they get through) when he should just draw the foul and get the other teams bigs in foul trouble early on. so 21TD you do make a good point, and Big50 you’re right, when his jump shot isnt falling, he just gives up sometimes.
