It’s over. No Manu, Timmy’s knees are shot, Fin Brucey and JV are way too old, the 3-point shooters are out of sync, Oberto’s heart is out of sync, the team is soft, and Frenchies wife Eva has been seen around with Mario Lopez. It really is over. Hey, the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and not the Germans. Whatever school taught you history, you need to go back to them and get a refund. Sigh…

Oh yeah, it is in a quotation box. Had to change the colors of my screen to see it lol. We need to get back to the old way we played B-ball. You know, tough in your face take no prisoners defense. We also gotta stop jacking up so many damn threes and get to the paint. I hope we get another “big” to help out Timmy in the lane next season. I miss the days when Robinson and Duncan use to wreak havoc under the basket. I think Camby or Rasheed will fit the bill. I’m still hoping for a miracle this season, though. GO SPURS GO!!!
On getting another “big”: I think the FO is still counting on Mahinmi, provided he’s not injured again next year. Maybe the 09/10 Spurs will finally see the youth movement that’s been badly needed for a couple of seasons now. We also need a SF, since Ime hasn’t panned out as well as we thought. But maybe Hairston or Gist fit that bill. All I know is, they better be in training camp being schooled in hard-nosed SPURS DEFENSE. With younger, quicker, more athletic guys, we can get our defense back on top of the league where it belongs.
Please get better for real this time, Manu.
I don’t know if Mahinmi can stay healthy long enough to count on, but if he can contribute that will be huge. This team HAS to get some young dudes in there that can provide some athleticism. Even before Manu’s injury, this team reminded me of the 2002 squad. Hopefully the 2010 squad will remind me of the 2003 addition.

Monday night is for mourning and losing all perspective. After feeling like a 7th seed and first round dismissal are the most likely outcome, allow Tuesday to shine some reality. Outside of the Lakers, what team in the West causes any legit concern? They’re all flawed as well. Even without Manu, this team is built to win playoff games. As soon as Pop figures out what he wants his rotation to be, things will be okay. Not great, but I’d still rather be a Spurs player/ fan than anyone else. It’s still our decade.
You bet I’d rather be a Spur than any other team. I bleed silver and black (B-ball that is…I can’t stand the NFL version). I just hate the damn LA Fakers so much, I wanna see them get eliminated in the first round ala Dallas Mavericks from a couple years ago. I highly doubt it’ll happen but I’m keeping my fingers crossed. If that happens, we have a legitemate shot. If not, I’m hoping for a miracle. After all, we’re sub par when it comes to playing .500 + teams. I think 16-18 thus far this season?

That’s pretty optimistic. I was thinking Spurs up two points with less than 10 seconds left in regulation then Kevin Durant hits a heart-breaking, gut-wrenching three at the buzzer. Sam Presti then goes over to a teary-eyed Pop and offers KD and PJ Carlesimo’s contract to the Spurs in exchange for the rights to Tiago Splitter and the JV’s jockstrap.

This question reminds me of one of my favorite t-shirts. I see this guy walking down the street wearing a black tee. He’s coming towards me and over his left chest area are tiny words written in white print.
Well the words are pretty small, but I’m curious so I try to walk close enough to read the words. Just as I’m about to pass him, I read the words and I burst out laughing. It’s a killer shirt. This is what it said:

Twitter is a great way to reach a mass amount of people anytime the site gets updated with new content. For a site like this, it could be a really great tool to help drive traffic to the site. For WTLC, it works decently, I don’t have tons of readers (Site is only 2 months old) but when new posts get put on twitter, I see a few referrals from it.

Let me say…through tears, that I think we can still beat OKC. I know we lost Manu and they’ve taken the last two from us, but with Frenchie McWonderbutt as our fearless leader and with TD, FinDog and the crew hungry for a win, I feel we have a chance tonight.
My "spurs soul" weeps for Emanuel...
….and yet I would not rule a scenario in which he has his leg cut off below the knee and replaces it with a carbon composite prosthetic (a la Oscar Pistorias – the double amputee Olympic sprinter).
Manu then returns to dominate the league until he is about 50 and starts a new global trend in elective self-amputation surgeries…which leads to job and new industry creation throughout the world and thus ends the global financial recession.

Hey, I saw the news the first thing when I woke up, so I’ve had an absolutely craptastic day. Thought I’d share a few links I dug up at work, which provided me some much needed level-headed thinking.
Over at 48 Minutes of Hell there were a couple of articles that gave me some hope, if not for this postseason then certainly the future isn’t as bleak as it looks now. And I have to mention TrueHoop where they mention PtR and specifically CMoney by name in regards to his “Superman wears Manu Ginobili pajamas to bed” quote. I’ll go take my frustrations out by playing squash, and I’ll try to come back awhile later cuz misery loves company.

We’ve still got the talent to beat the Thunder. We’ve just lost one of our Big 3, we’ve dropped the last 2 to these guys…I’d say we’ve got a lot to play for, and a lot to prove. Tony takes over the game and cements his status as the team’s new leader.

YEA!!! I’m pumped up now. I pity the foos! Maybe tonight is when we have one of those games Pop always talks about where the team’s star player is hurt and the rest of us play like a stinky rabid rabbit with sharp fangs and pointy teeth in a corner made of sharp glass and rusty nails (paraphrasing I believe). I’d prefer we saved that game for perhaps the Lakers but a win against OKC will do.

I know we’re wounded going into battle, and going forward. Jalberto, please, thank the people in that forum [SpursTalk, referring to a poll about him] for understanding the situation and having my back. It’s a very unfortunate situation, and I don’t think it’s at all related to the Olympic Games. Different things in different legs.

He actually is pretty clutch. Off the top of my head I can think of several last-second game-tying or winning shots he’s hit; he gets a bad rap ‘round these parts, being called a “corpse” and all. Sure, he’s not going to break you down off the bounce and dunk in your face anymore, but he’s an effective jump shooter who doesn’t f* up.
He reminds me of when the Sonics had Ricky Pierce and Eddie Johnson in the mid-90s. They’d come in, hit a few j’s, and then sit down again. The real issue is that we play FinDog starter’s minutes when he should be getting more like 10-15 mins per game.
Now all we need is a little Energon... and a lot of luck.

About the FanShots thing, on second thought, maybe we shouldn’t use it for useless links. I was about to post something totally unrelated to the Spurs or basketball but I saw the collection of Spurs-related links and I felt this urge not to ruin the sanctity of that part of PtR. I mean, the FanPosts include non-basketball-related stuff like illusion-crushing threads and pictures of fish, but the FanShots section seems to be held in a higher and more respected plane.
