Poll: Most despised Mav V2
Thursday night's stomping of us in Dallas was one of the worst games we can remember. We will never speak of that night again. Atleast Ericka did not make good on his promise to get Tony on the ground. Vote for the worst Mav. I've got all of the Mavs in there this time. No forgetting Barea, Stack, or Cubes. Or the pic. Eugene is running away with this one.

As of the time of this writing 100% of respondents have voted for Jason Eugene Terry. No explanation is necessary.
I'm comfortable winning -- Emmanuel Ginobili
Obviously, one great thing about PtR is the nicknames. I think we need to use disparaging and insulting nicknames for our opponents with greater regularity. I like how we refer to Howard as “the big bug” but I think we can do more with the Mavs.
Terry: Actually, calling him Eugene would be funny. Or paper airplane.
Dampier: Erica is good, but I think something that focuses on his lack of self-awareness. Maybe Kip after Napoleon Dynamite’s brother.
Nowitski: I know it’s not right, but I really want to call him Ahmedinejad after Powell’s holocaust denial comment.
other ideas?

I’ve always called Dirk “Shitski” cuz I’m clever like that. You see what I did there… I took Shit and combined it with…. oh never mind.
And I’ve always loved Eugene for Terry.

I like Nutpuncher for Terry.
JJ Barea as Jar-Jar works for me.
Dirk as Herr Flopenstein or Herr Flopmeister.

I used to live in Dallas for the past 2 years before recently moving and I despised Dallas radio for its Mavs nut-riding. However, they had plenty of criticism and I did my best to chime in and represent the Spurs I best I could when I got on the radio.
Nickname they use frequent regarding Dampier, is Tampier…a pun on the word tampon. hah.

I stuck with Howard.
Not that Dampier doesn’t shoot his mouth off just as much, Howard’s damage shows up in the box score. Dampier needs the airwaves.

The poll is great but there is so much annoyance to go around we need a ranking
My ranks:
1. Jason Terry: Nut-punches, pantomimes a jet, looks like a douche, is a douche, too stupid to play his natural position.
2. Josh Howard: Bucktoothed, travels often after a ball-fake, looks ugly and ungraceful on the court but still gets the ball to drop.
3. Erick Dampier: Gets away with tons of cheap fouls inside, talks big but has very little game, is just the benfactor of being the worst offensive player on the court so his defender often ignores him, looks like a douche.
4. J.J. Barea: Cannot decide whether or not he wants to wear a mouthpiece, he looks like the lead character from Revenge of the Nerds, flop artist.
5. Mark Cuban: Owner of one of the most annoying teams ever to play in the NBA, and that team is a complete reflection of his own inflated ego.
6. Dirk Nowitzki: Refs blow a whistle if someone breaths on him, yet he rarely seems to get called for touch fouls himself (and when he does he whines up a storm).
7. Stackhouse: Trash-talking thug.
9. Devean George: Hated him as a Laker and I still hate him and his irritating grin.
10. Jason Kidd: Spurned the Spurs (thank the gods).
the rest…

It is going well. I have been in the midst of a brutal separation and custody batlle for most of the season. Finally I have some time to post.

It’s still Terry for me, but the Mavs are an around detestable bunch. The faux toughness that guys like Terry, Howard and Dampier walk around with is laughable. It was hilarous watching them fold last night as the game got physical. Hopefully that effort will carry over to Thursday night.

I voted for one nobody voted for
Jason Kidd. i have a lot of respect for him, but something about him angers me very much.
V- "I'm not questioning your powers of observation. I'm merely remarking on the paradox of asking a masked man who he is."
well from what i’ve read, he was quite the dickhole in New Jersey. Got Byron Scott fired (though i dunno how i feel about this now that he coaches NO) and i think i read that he was accused of beating his wife. Dudes that lay a hand on women are pretty tool-ish in my book

Don't bite.... I'm a newbie here.
Have been enjoying this blog as an outsider for a while. Figured I’d bite the bullet and join. Had to vote for that asshat Eugeney on this one… Although, it is difficult for me to choose the king of the Dallas Douche bags.

response I got after asking about it on TDS:
They say sprained knee. Maybe a torn ligament, though.
If it’s ligament stuff….. what a shitty way to end an awesome career.

Wonder what’s going to happen to Ericka since his comments are “under review” by the NBA….
Hmmmm……. All the possibilities…. Got one!!…… Oh wait!! That one’s not legal…

Nicknames?
My friend (beloved Mav fan of 20 + years, but not of this team) gave them nicknames before and after they choked away 2006….
Dampier : loved Ericka
Nowitzki : Hasselhoff
Terry : (before Spurs games/suspension) slingshot — I asked him if it was because of his speed, he said “no, I’ve always wondered how far he would fly if you used his bandana like a slingshot and his head was the bullet…” (after Spurs games / suspension) : nuggets lover (not Denver)
Howard : (before marijuana use admisson) : mutation (after) : weed-whacker
Harris : McBlur
Stackhouse : expendable
I asked him about Cuban, but he refrained. He said he had several, but Cuban is the person who brought his beloved Mavs to relevance again, so he’d respect it.
"This team is like a bunch of cockroaches. They just don't die!" -Charles Barkley, after Game 7 vs. the NOOCH.
The "I'm gonna rip the eyes out of your head and piss into your dead skull! You f***ed with the wrong Marine!" face. Because Popovich can be kinda scary.
Dampier to follow rules for Game 3.

All any of you have to hold your hat on is which Mav you hate and what stupid ass nickname you can make up for him. I ALMOST feel sorry for you…….ALMOST.

Actually, we hang our hat on the 4 Championships we’ve won in the past decade. Trust me, I really feel sorry for you guys. Falling on your face in the ’06 finals and then doing it all over again the next season. Ouch. Bless your heart.
