Extreme hustle. He coughed blood and reports say it might be a bruised kidney.

Hope for the best...

If it is a bruised kidney then Gooden will most likely miss the rest of the series. A bruised kindey usually requires close observation (several weeks) to make sure the bleeding doesn’t get worse.

Additional thought

He may be able to play but the risk of impact may be too high.

For sake of the team and (more importantly) his health, the official report is something less severe.

Ouch

Well, this isn’t good. Hopefully he just had some red kool-aid and they thought it was blood.

(sigh)

I hope the official report is something less severe.

Man I really hope for his health sake that everything is all good. He played great for us last night sans a few turnovers. We need him on the floor to spell Tim.

This explains why he didn’t post up in the 2nd half. I thought Pop decided not to use such an obvious advantage late in a blowout, this way the Mav defenders wouldn’t get a feel for Gooden’s post moves. Obviously it was based more on his health than the score differential.
