Thursday Night Loser Thread
Good evening my fellow Spur fans. It's another Thursday night Loser thread extravaganza. For our NBA entertainment tonight, we have the Mavs going for a predictable loss against the Hornets. In game 2, we have Team Implosion aka the Denver Nuggets going against the Portland Trailblazers, which leads me to a question. How long will the Denver ownership/management put up with George Karl and his prima donna antics? No disrespect to him because he is a cancer survivor, but he's a lousy coach. Let's discuss the games and anything else that may be on your minds.

Bigger douche? CFLOP3 or Jason “Iron Wrist and Fist” Terry?
Can they possibly out-douche each other this game?

Each guy punched another guy in the nuts, violating an essential man law. So there douche level is cancels each other out.

How do you all see the divisions playing out? Obviously the Lakers have the Pacific sewed up. I’m thinking the Spurs take the SW and the Jazz take the NW. Thoughts?

It’s one game in the regular season. As much as we would all like for the Spurs to go 82-0 during the regular season, it’s not gonna happen.

82-0 would be nice (though I think we need another coach to achieve that). Yeah.. but maybe I just feel extra bad that it was the Mavs and they’re just a bunch of suck. I’m comparing it to those paltry losses to Toronto and New York but Cuban just has a special place in my cold, black heart.

If we had Scola, Splitter and Pops, we could probably go 81-1. That one loss coming on the last day of the regular season when Pop sits the starters to spite the league and deny them the first undefeated season in NBA history.
"Well if I am truly crazy, don't you know I like my life that way"
They put a lot into that game last night. They haven’t played that hard in weeks. And as you see tonight, their back to their normal form.

That would be awesome though wouldn't it.
Maybe then the national media would pay attention to the Spurs. Hell, even if that were to happen the so called experts would still say the Lakers or the Celtics were the favorites because they have the best finishers or some bullshit of that nature.
"There's a thin line between to laugh with and to laugh at." - Richard Pryor
The Hornets have been pretty efficient tonight. By my (probably wrong) calculations, they’ve tallied about 128 pts per 100 possessions.
"There's a thin line between to laugh with and to laugh at." - Richard Pryor
I’m sorry, I’ve been on an efficiency kick lately. I find it amazing that the Hornets don’t run more. They have some guys that can fly.
"There's a thin line between to laugh with and to laugh at." - Richard Pryor
It’s because Chris Paul likes to handle the ball so much, and show everyone how good he is, instead of just making the smart, efficient play. He’s such a stud.

That’s funny you mention that. I’m trying to remember the season when teams collectively started slowing their pace. It had to start with those Piston teams in the late 80’s, but I know for a fact that the Pat Riley Knick teams of the early 90’s just about beat the air out of the ball when he was their coach.

Anything that makes the Knicks have a winning record, or anything close — D’Antoni — is considered good for the NBA and therefore must be genius.
