Spurs current record is 44-22

Last year the team finished 56-26, the most losses since 1998. They would need to finish 12-4 to match that. They have gone 5-5 in the previous 10.

If theres something the Spurs want to avoid its 30 losses. Not counting the 1997 tank season, the Spurs haven't finished with 30+ losses for the season since 1993 when they went 49-33.

16 ball games left: 9 home 7 away

Of those 7 road games 3 are against playoff hopefuls. Hornets, Cavs, Hawks

Of the 9 at home 5 are against playoff compeition: Hornets, Jazz, Rockets, Celtics

3 sets of back to backs. Warriors/@Hawks, @Blunder/Blazers,  @Kings/@Warriors.

I was gonna add some more but in PtR fashion I have to half ass this because I'm in a hurry and wanted to get this up before tonight's Wolves game.

So my prediction is 10-6.

6-10 is the worse I think they can go and 16-0 if Manu comes back tonight and saves everything.

Hmm…Considering the last game, I say we lose every single game by double digits. Maybe single digits if the Spurs get their shit together.

I’m going 10 – 6, too…with hopefully 1 to 3 surprise victories, and 0 surprise losses.

Yes!

I was wondering when you were going to post another one of these. I think 10-6 is conservative. I’d like to see 12-4. I think it’s more than possible, but it would help if we started playing with a little more urgency and/or with The Sickness.

Is Hariston out? Why didn’t he play last night?

by Big50 on Mar 17, 2009 1:50 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Agreed…I’d looove 12-4 too.

What, exactly, is Manu’s status? Are we expecting him before playoffs, or not? BSPN has something posted about him returning in it’s ‘Rumors’ section, but I am not an ‘Insider’, so I’m not able to read the entire story. Anyone know?

I know he never made the move to Formula 1, but because I grew up in Houston, I am legally obligated to say his name whenever the topic of racing comes up: A.J. Foyt.

Pronounced dead on the scene after a (stock car) road-course crash in 1965, he was racing again 10 weeks later and won 10 poles and 5 races in Indy Cars that season.

Crazy old coot.

HE SPENT A WHOLE YEAR RECUPERATING IN ARGENTINA AND THEN NEXT YEAR FINISHED SECOND IN THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BUT NOBODY GIVES HIM CREDIT BECAUSE HE’S FROM ARGENTINA LIKE MANU AND MARADONA AND FANGIO.

 Wed 08 vs Portland – L

 Fri 10 vs Utah – W
Sun 12 @ Sacramento – W
 Mon 13 @ Golden State – W

 Wed 15 vs New Orleans – W

This isn’t a tough schedule. We have 3 back-to-back games and we will probably lose all of them because the second game in each set falls against a young, athletic team (yeah, I know the Hawks only sort of count).

Also, we lose to the Celtics and the Cavs. The Cavs are peaking and the Celts look really strong even despite injuries.

I like this, but I see us beating Boston due to the injuries you mentioned and losing once to NOOCH, we usually blow a game against them at some point.

Hello sabre, gotta say, tough to see us going 12-4, specially when you factor in manu probably isnt coming back for at least another 10 days.

Then you have to factor in that Timmys knees need rest ( seen him play lately?) Im not a Dr, but id reckon he probably needs at least 4 games off till the postseason starts.

Lets just get through this fuckin reg season. Who cares if we slip to the 4th seed ( but no lower, hopefully)

by alamobro on Mar 17, 2009 5:36 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

I say 12-4

we should only lose 3 games (Boston, Cleveland, and at Hornets) but our surprise loss will be Portland. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

With the drafting of Manu and Parker and the signing of Oberto, the International Basketball era began in San Antonio. showing that all of the world's people can, in fact, come together in peace and harmony. After all, every nationality loves to kick the Hornets' asses.

I like this in theory, especially #2. But since when do the Spurs play well in statement games? It often seems that we don’t come out with the same intensity as our opponents in those statement games and fall behind early.

Than my post. I forgot to account for the wino factor.

However, we need to beat Utah. They should come into our inevitable pre-western conference meeting humbled by the end of the regular season.

We’re going 10-7. Yeah, I said it. Pop’s gonna figure out a way for us to lose twice to Sacramento, just to piss the guys off going into the playoffs.

"Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V"- V from "V for Vendetta"
