What about Mikki Moore?
Just waived by sactown. He is not a starting PF in a team that needs scoring or anything approximating a low post prescence. He is more Kurt Thomas mid range jumpshot, as well as ..dunks...
He could be had for next to nothing. He only really rebounds and defends and he is an athletic guy...Would probably go for a season long contract with a conteder for peanuts...Really passionate...I know he wasn't that loved in Sacremento, but that was mostly for the fact that he was standing in front of Jason Thompson & Spencer Hawes, young bigs who were full of potential but not getting enough minutes to develop due to Brad Miller & Mikki being in the way.
He fills a niche and it costs us next to nothing? Worth a flyer imo.

I’m just not sure if we can get him out of his contract with the WNBA though.

You’re really on lately. Save some of that stuff for the PO.

what about Pops Mensah Bonsu?

48 Minutes of Hell has me fired up for the Mensah Bonsu era
Hopefully the Spurs are just waiting until after the trade deadline before calling him up. He sounds like the type of player that we need right now.
It sounds like Memphis might be buying out Chris Mihm after trading for him. I always thought that he would work well next to Timmeh.

well theyll have some options
none of which would have the upside of Mahinmi….ugh, what a wasted year in his development

They’re spot on; Pops is legit. I still have some seats available on the PtR wagon if you want in.

I don't get the Pops hysteria
If Pops is this great, why isn’t he playing for any of the other teams in the NBA? If he was a big man who could contribute to a team wanting to win a championship, don’t you think he could contribute to the T-Wolves?

I would have said the same about Nazr and Elson too, but we landed them. And even if you assume that the D-League is lower quality and likely not going to produce NBA talent….. there ARE gems out there, think- JR Giddens, Jordan Farmar, Jamario Moon, Ramon Sessions, Mikki Moore and Kelenna Azabuike. I happen to think that if given the opportunity and integrated into the system slowly and soon to provide time to absorb before the PO, Pops could be an asset. He’s cheap, close and teachable. Either way, he’s definitely one that likely won’t be in the D very long; he’s got mad skills.

Outside of Farmar, you named guys who contribute to losing teams. Or, in Giddens case, is consigned to the D-League because he can’t play on a winning team.
Nazr and Elson were in the league already.
Not to say Pops sucks or anything. Just, he’s in the D-League for a reason.

If anyone read about this?
"• Marcus Camby
The Spurs offered what the Clippers wanted for Camby, thought they had a deal then watched as Clippers owner Donald Sterling suddenly had a moment of clarity.
Wait … you mean we’re trading the GOOD center?
Instead of joining a contending team, Camby will continue to share a locker room with Ricky Davis. "

Trade was for – Bowen, Fab Oberto and George Hill.

What do you guys think?
Would have helped our defense and try to win now vs Hill’s potential.
Man, I’m thinking this would have been awesome. Although we would have to see The JV more.

In the short term, Rasho would be better than any of these guys.

I mean any of the guys who are available to be bought out and signed. I don’t think he would be better than Marcus Camby would have been.

Let's grab Rasho.
He obviously can shoot and would definately be good for some boards again, and maybe a foul here and there. Sign him for the rest of the season?

id rather go for rasho that mikki moore or pops mensa-bonsu – or whatever. none of these three are really legit – nor do i think that the spurs could make them acceptibaly serviceable. they will get somebody off the scrap heap though.
