Let's Trade for Chandler
If this report is true, then the Hornets are looking to shed Chandler's salary early in exchange for some expiring contracts. Unfortunately, we don't have any large contracts that expire this year, and so it would require packaging a bunch of players.
I put together a trade for Chandler in exchange for Finley, Bowen, and KT. Obviously we lose depth on the wings, and we don't add depth at the center position, but it sure helps our defense and rebounding right away. A Chandler/Duncan c/pf combo would be the best in the league, defensively, and not far away from the best offensively (because Duncan is a badass m10r).
I don't know that the Hornets would be willing to do this, mostly because it would help a rival, and it is expensive, but it certainly peaks my interest.

Damn you Pollackj. This was going to be my post today.
We can do a better trade than that though. We can trade them Fab and Robert Horry — signed to a 5 mill deal or so — to the Hornets for him. Horry would be one big expiring contract. Done deal.

A frontline of Duncan, Chandler and Bonner, yikes!!

Bonner cannot play the 3. At all. Ever. The true quick 3s of the world would eat him alive defensively. Can you imagine Matt guarding LeBron or Kobe or even Rudy Gay. No.
In this fantasy scenario, I fear Pop would continue to start Fin and Bonner would get 20 minutes a game from the pine.

I expressed myself badly. I was talking about a rotation of Duncan, Chandler and Bonner. So at all times 2 of those 3 would be on the court.

Chandler traded to OKC.
I wouldn’t have liked Chandler in a Spurs uniform, anyway. I still resent him for those 4 crappy seasons he gave the crappy Bulls.

I posted in the Carter Thread that I was all over a chandler trade
the general concensus was pretty negative.
Looking at what it cost to get him though…jeeze we couldn’t have put that together?

i think that paul is better than tony at tossing an oop. therefore, chandler wouldnt have scored a lick with SA, nor will he in OKC.
not a big fan of chandler’s abilities, but i suppose that he could have added defense and rebounding. no big deal that we msised out on this one. id hate to see the spurs make a deal just to make a deal.

I’ll agree that OKC won out on this trade, I still think Chandler’s a bust.
