Manu Ginóbili is a statistical freak

The San Antonio Spurs’ Manu Ginóbili is a statistical freak: he has no imbalance whatsoever in his game — there is no one way to play him that is better than another. He is equally efficient both off the dribble and off the pass, going left and right and from any spot on the floor.
From The No-Stats All-Star, which mostly discusses one of a few non super-stars I wish played for the Spurs, Shane Battier.

Really? I like it. Sometimes it’s too contrarian but it does have some good articles.

Matthew… I wrote a long reply to your post and couldn’t post it. You took it down?

Yeah I don’t see it anymore. Did you write a long post all in caps and scare him away?

Not sure. Funny thing is, I kept hitting “post” over and over again and couldn’t figure out what was going on. Then I refreshed the page and got a 404…

Sorry about that David. It wasn’t supposed to post at all. I’m not sure how it got up there. I’m still working on it and am scheduling it to post Monday morning.

I missed all the All-Star shenanigans… anything good? How did Mason and Tony do? I hear they failed spectacularly… Can’t even find the footage for Mason’s.

Mason’s last two ball would have put him in the running – but it rattled out.

Tony was done in by the first pass obstacle — and the top-of-the-key shot.

We sucked at every single thing. If we can’t win important events such as those, events that are the hallmark of basketball, forget about getting a ring this year.

Becky Hammon didn’t suck… she’s the one that hit the half court shot. Other than… yeah, we pretty much sucked.

It’s common knowledge that NBA players’ contracts state that they view at least 2 WNBA games per season, but what I can’t seem to explain is David’s presence.

What a puzzlement.

White is awesome at dunking. Did you guys know he won the D-League dunk contest? There’s a photo I put up in my blog that’s just incredible… I think it’s in a gallery at the D-League site somewhere.

Just popped open my Sunday times to read the article. It’s actually a nice history/analysis of the +/- system. Even numbers can’t contain the The Sickness.

But at the same time, he can be guarded by JJ redick and have an awful night. He is so unpredictable, but that can be bad sometimes.

"I hate being out on the floor wasting that time," he said. "I used to try to talk to people, but then I figured out no one actually liked me very much." Instead of engaging in the pretense that these other professional basketball players actually know and like him, he slips away into the locker room.

This is gold.

Probably. I imagine I’d befriend Battier, though. And I’m hump Manu’s leg before going to the locker room.

Not related, jolly, how egotistical is it to put your blog’s URL in your sig? I tried it, but it looked stupid to me. Any thoughts, guys? Should I be subtle and unmoving? Or blatant and needy?
