Hoops Addict interviews Hill and Mason

I'm sure many of you are familiar with Hoops Addict. For those of you who aren't, well, it's worth checking out. Ryan McNeill is their editors and recently held two short interviews with Roger "Mace" Mason Jr. and George "Cubits" Hill.

I'll quote some interesting bits. First, from Mason's:

McNeill: You've got a big weekend coming up. How excited are you to be part of All-Star weekend?
Mason Jr.: I'm excited because as a kid I dreamed about playing and participating in All-Star weekend. It's going to be a lot of fun.

McNeill: I noticed that during the game tonight you were guarding Jason Kapono for extended stretches. Was there any friendly bantering going on between you two?
Mason Jr.: (Laughing) No, he actually didn't mention it. I was hoping to talk with him a little bit about it but I'm sure I'll talk with him down there.

Ryan told me that Hill came across as a great, humble kid. He thinks the Spurs have another gem in him. And yes, guys, we do.

McNeill: What kinds of things does Tony Parker teach you in practice? Does he pull you aside during timeouts or breaks in the game to share his experience?
Hill: He teaches me a lot of different things that are helping me to become a better point guard. He knows coming out of college I was a two-guard and now I'm trying to learn how to play point guard, one of the most difficult positions to play in the NBA. Especially learning from an All-Star point guard and trying to fill his shoes can be a pretty difficult task. So he teaches me the floater, that's one of the big things so far. He's good at that so he tries to show it to me and we work on that. And just making the right plays and things like that.

We really have two great guys in Roger and George. I'm a bit ashamed that I was willing to trade Roger earlier today...

Yup....Mace and Hill are both Keepers

I just wish Mace wouldn’t jack up some of those 4 seconds into the shot clock jumpers. Regardless he seems to be a clutch time player and they both appear to pretty fearless. In regard G-Money, I must admit I wasn’t happy on draft day, I had no idea who this kid was and since he was from here (USA) I didn’t have faith that all the teams ahead of us hadn’t discovered him either. My apologies, I was SO VERY WRONG about him, and I’m extremely pleased to have yet another draft day gem.
