So now it is not about championships but about winning % plus ROI? Wow congratulations, how fun for you!

The Lakers "Too big, too strong, too long, too good."
I just thought it was an interesting idea. I wasn’t trying to start yet another argument, you crazy Laker fan. Besides, you can’t fault any formula too much that results in the Lions being the worst organization of the decade.

No hard feelings. Virtually every post round here with the words “of the decade” pushes my buttons.
The Lakers "Too big, too strong, too long, too good."
You’re just cranky.
I thought it was a pretty good list, as the Top 10 was filled with teams that if you had to pick the best organizations would immediately come to mind. Except for the Mavs. I don’t get that.

“You’re just cranky.” Yeah, that’s a given.
I saw the Mavs too. I’m just gonna guess that their greatness is more on the financial/ROI side than on the winning side.
And I will spare you the details about just how great my Lakers are and have been throughout time compared to the rest of the NBA. (You’re welcome.)

I guess the Lakers would be the equivalent of AIG, being bailed out by massive amounts of money and a rather good deal from the government (Grizzlies).

That’s silly but I am surprised that you are not more sensitive to the Spurs’ obvious exploitation of foreign and aging workers. They bring them in and sign them to below market contracts. Then the overwork them until they break down and at which point they get traded to Jersey or Milwaukee or somewhere. The shame.

That sounds bad, but at least we didn’t get Pau Gasol from the natives for a bag of glass and a couple of first round draft picks.

You know what’s funny is that besides the $10 expiring contract that was Kwame Brown, the Grizz got Pau’s brother Marc. This is only his 2nd yr in the NBA but he’s doing pretty well. For example:
Marc Gasol – 15ppg, 10rpg – 24 yrs old
Pau Gasol – 18ppg, 9rpg – 29 yrs old
Tim Duncan – 19ppg, 11rpg – 33 yrs old
I’m guessing the Grizz are OK with paying Marc $10 mil less and only giving up 3ppg and 1rpg. Plus I hear that Marc is tougher and plays better D than his older brother. (I can’t answer for how the Grizz spent the $10mil after Kwame left. But then that is why they’re the Grizz.)
So in 3-5 yrs when both Pau & “his awesomeness” have retired I don’t want to hear about you complaining how the Grizz stole Marc from the Lakers.

Oh, but you will.
