They’ve quietly moved in the top 10 teams in terms of defensive efficiency(not in Hollinger’s ratings, he has them 11th or 12th I think), while maintaining their 5th-place offense(Hollinger has them 4th). They’re slowly getting better.
The Spurs - now playing like sh*t again!
Out of our next four games (MIA, WSH, TOR, DET @ 52-69), our two toughest opp are Miami (16-12) and Toronto (15-17 and a SEGABABA). This is the beginning of the end of our cupcake diet…
From there to the end of January we see: Dallas, New Jersey, Lakers, @OKC, @Charlotte, @Memphis, @New Orleans, Utah, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, Memphis, and Denver.
The Lakers and OKC games are back-to-back and so are the Charlotte and Memphis games. The Spurs play four games in five days and three of those are on the road.
I agree that they’re slowly getting better but January is a tough mid-term. And we better pray they play well and continue to improve because the rodeo road trip is right after that.
"We suck on 'D. Both individually and team-wise, we suck. We're pretty consistent that way. I don't know if I have an answer to that. If I did, we wouldn't suck quite so bad." - Popovich
Word. Yea Hollingers machine must have a mechanism that does not allow for a team to be dinged too harshly for a close loss against a good competitor. San Antonio has been in just about every game that they have lost….
...Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is forty five.
Apparently, the Suns are no the best team in the West. Good to know.
