Tuesday 12/1 Loser Thread
Good evening all! We have lots of more action around the league tonight. Toronto hosts the Wiz, the Celtics travel to Charlotte to blowout the Cats, Phoenix heads to the Big Apple, Golden State tries to continue its winning ways in Enver, the Heat go to Portland, and on NBA-TV the Nooch go to LA for a whoppin'. Attached is another brain buster of a poll. You're kidding me. This is not 75 words yet?!

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

I dunno, call me a jerk or class-less, but if you were Kevin McHale, Kenny Smith, or Smitty, or Bruce, or Brent Barry (especially one of the 3 Spurs), and you did commentary with C-Webb, Snow or Barkley, would you wear atleast one championship ring for broadcasts, on screen? I might. As far as I know there is no rule against it. I know the football commentators on Sunday afternoon certainly flash the bling. It wouldn’t be rubbing it in too much, would it? Honestly, what could they say? :-P
I hafta agree with you on that one.

I’m home with a fever instead of at the Toros game.
You probably shouldn’t click on this.
I have flying monkeys at my disposal, and I'm not afraid to use them.
Hope you feel better, blah blah blah.

No, really, don’t do it. Do not click on that link. No. Stop.

I can’t see it at work, is that the Spurs Chippendales thing?

Someone put up a FanShot during the summer… I’ll try to look for it, if it’ll make you feel better?

What would be really funny would be if it was me and I forgot.

Nah, it’s definitely not you. How did you find that anyway? Does it have George Hill in there?

Of course it does! Timmy, Tony, Manu, George . . . and Matty.

Ah. It’s different. I remember Fab was in the other one.

We should make one with just the new guys. Blair, Bogans, Theo, Rage, and Dice.

I agree. But I’m scared to lead the charge on that one. You know how society perceives male strippers.

I was wondering where you were. It was a good game. Our man Gee put up 30. The recap is mostly done, I’m just waiting on official stats. They had computer issues tonight.

I just noticed that Queness is the only one without a vote yet in the craziest PtR member poll (not considering new entrant, scrappy doo). Maybe she’s not that crazy, after all.

Yes, normal people often shout what you just said.

Live from Staples Center in Los Angeles, World Champion Los Angeles Lakers basketball is on the air! Oops, wrong site. :)
The Lakers "Too big, too strong, too long, too good."
Hey, look at that, someone voted for the NOOCH in the poll!
How odd.

Somebody had to.

Well I’ll be. It’s December already. Guess everyone’s out shopping for Christmas.

Talking about Christmas I had buy my dog this:

It’s a good brush but I wish it didn’t look like it was designed by people who dress their dogs up for Halloween.

Can’t wait for the Pippen speech in which he talks about how he really was almost as good as Jordan himself.

Malone, Pippen and Bernard King should be locks. I hope Rodman makes it, but maybe not this (following) year.

I got into a mild friendly debate at work yesterday about weather or not the Worm deserves to get in or not. I’m on the fence. 5 rings, 2 DPOY awards…but thats it. Only defense. One of the best rebounders of all time. A roleplayer?
Of course he deserves it. Personality doesn’t count? It should.

I’m all for the Worm, even if he acted like a total douche when he was with the Spurs.

Oh well. This year it was Stockton and Jordan, next year it’ll be Scottie and Malone. Good years for HOF.

Karl Malone – 1st ballot
Scottie Pippen – 1st ballot
Dennis Rodman – probably
Mark Jackson – wishes he were a Laker; no.
Don Nelson – has won more games than any coach, but never coached in the Finals.
Chris Mullin- yes
Jamaal Wilkes – no
Dennis Johnson – yes; great defender.
Jerry Reinsdorf – no.
Muggsy Bogues- no.
Ralph Sampson – no.
Tex Winter – yes.
Ralph Samson was nominated on the strength of his college career, not the pros.
Tex Winter and Bobby Hurley Sr. have been on that nominees list since forever. Don’t wait until they’re dead, HoF Committee. Make it happen.

As an assistant to Phil Jackson, who took over as the Bulls’ head coach in 1989, Winter was an integral part of the Bulls’ NBA championships in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, and 1998. Winter followed Phil Jackson to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he collected four additional championship rings, in 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2009.
Yeah, but what’s his +/-?

Crap, the damn Noochers battled back to within 20 at the half.
The Lakers "Too big, too strong, too long, too good."
Sigh.
What’s it like to take a big lead into the second half, anyway?

Portland’s lost 3 in a row, to mediocre teams. Cue epic meltdown at Blazersedge.
The Spurs - now playing defense again!
Holy shit, 1k comments per half. Anyway, the fans kinda were saying the Blazers weren’t as good as most of us PTR members thought, I guess they were right.

Hey, while you’re on the subject of comments, I saw some on Yahoo stories that made me GOL.
On players with the highest basketball IQ:
Uh, if by “highest basketball IQ” you mean “guy who chucks up 18-foot fadeaway jumpers while triple teamed from time to time,” then yeah, it’s Kobe.
and
Marko Jaric! For somehow still being in the league, getting paid big, and knocking up Adriana Lima. Smartest man to ever play basketball.
On the 10 best NBA players of the last decade:
TD is the best – has there ever been a superstar’s personality so brilliantly matched to his coach?
(Eddy Curry and Isaiah Thomas do not count.)

I read that TrueHoop was looking for a new Blazers blog as part of the TH network. Unfortunately, despite Blazersedge being THE happening Blazers blog, it can’t join because there’s supposedly a conflict of interest between ESPN and SB Nation.

Bustabucket is cool. But, I think Bloguin is going to end up having the conflict of interest thing with ESPN as well.
