Hammerhead Shark.
The hammer shape of the head was thought to help sharks find food, aiding in close-quarters maneuverability and allowing the shark to turn sharply without losing stability. However, it was found that the unusual structure of its vertebrae allowed it to make the turns correctly, more than its head. But as the hammer would also shift and provide lift; hammerheads are one of the most negatively buoyant of sharks. Like all sharks, hammerheads have electroreceptory sensory pores called ampullae of Lorenzini. By distributing the receptors over a wider area, hammerheads can sweep for prey more effectively.2 These sharks have been able to detect an electrical signal of half a billionth of a volt. The hammer also allows the nostrils to be placed further apart, increasing its ability to detect chemical gradients and localize the source.

Let’s hope the law of averages starts working on those shooting percentages.
The Spurs - not playing defense anymore, since 2008.
We have 11 offensive rebounds. That’s why we’re in the game, really.

I’m gonna go ahead and go out on a limb and say that Bonner will be in the 3pt Shooting Contest AND Dunk Contest at All-Star Weekend 2010.

Has anyone ever done that?

Michael Jordan was in both, though not in the same year. He set the record for lowest score ever in the three point shootout, IIRC.

That's why I love Sean Elliott...
He totally called that last Manu 3— after the hard foul on a pick, he’s talking about how most guys get up angry, looking for a fight, whereas the contact just gets Manu going. The words, “just look for him to do something great” were just out of his mouth, and boom goes the dynamite— Manu tres. Not only is Sean unafraid to say things other announcers won’t say, he sees the things that others don’t.

Sorry you don’t like it. It seemed more friendly than what LatinD suggested “We’re the Lakers – Fuck you.”
(And no I wasn’t saying that to you just to be clear.)
And yes I am a 2009 World Champion Fan.
And yes I am a 2010 Western Conference Runner Up Fan.
Try this on for size.

Seeing Dice, Blair Force, Cubits, Bonner and Manu go after every rebound they could brought a smile to my face; where was this effort, last week?
I loved the win, but face-palmed the defense. Pop is going to rip them a new one between now and Wednesday. Lack of defense aside, the new guys are beginning to gel and “get” one another. If Pop takes anything away from this game, it had better be making Matt Bonner a member of the second unit. And, by all means, Pop, let the Red Rocket finish out the game, if he’s got a fire lit under his ass like he did tonight.
"...and programmed to save the day!"
Sorry gojo . but I seriously doubt Pop will be reeming them a new one for the putrid defense. Its much too early in the season for that. In fact, the main reason the defense sucks ass is because Pop hasnt begun to flog the team yet. Thats his way. Its worked pretty well in the past
...Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is forty five.
But does Pop ever miss a chance to show his team what they lacked in defense? 124 should be our oppenents’ total for two games.

Some of that was inept D, and some of that was seriously crazy shooting by the Raptors. In any case to me it was the most enjoyable game of the season. Manu is officially back, and new guys showed some game. I loved Rage’s energy. And Bonner’s dunk – I mean, who knew he could dunk? The man can jump, obviously. All in all, much better than last two games, which felt like pulling the tooth out.
You’re absolutely right. Whenever Muddbutt has a fire lit under his ass, he somehow has more fossil fuel energy.

Howdy all…saw some of the game during flipping back and forth with Monday Night Football. No Tim, or Tony…but Manu and George sure came out. Happy to see the win, finally!
trivia question
Anybody here remember last time when the Spurs had 130 points in regulation? Should we go all the way back to Iceman’s time for that?
