If you’re looking only at this season until now, probably not. But if you take into account the career, absolutely no question that Timmeh is the Top PF (or C for that matter).

(or C for that matter).
Say what now? Easy there Cap:
- William Felton Russell?
- Wilton Norman Chamberlain? (Wilt the Stilt, The Big Dipper, the Chairman of the Boards)
- Kareem?
I mean is Duncan even a better center than “The Admiral”?
I should stop there. . .

I’m pretty sure the list is for active players.
The Spurs - not playing defense anymore, since 2008.

Yes, Skippy, you jumped the gun. I meant for current players, as I consider Duncan (slightly) ahead of Shaq. I do think Timmeh is the greatest PF of all time, but he’d only crack the Top 5 as a C.

OK at least I got to revisit Wilt’s nick-names “Wilt the Stilt, The Big Dipper, the Chairman of the Boards”. Makes me smile just reading them.
So who’s the better center Duncan or Robinson? (By the way this is not even meant as a smart-ass question. To me it is a fair question like asking a Laker fan if Magic or Jerry West is better.)

Wow, good question. I would probably say Timmeh, but with the understanding that The Admiral is underrated by most NBA fans and is a Top 20 (at least) C of all time. I’d have to do some research to answer this credibly, rather than just off the top of my head. So I’ll throw this out to all PtRers for discussion: Who’s the better pivot? Duncan or Robinson?

Duncan is the greatest PF ever. He played C only later in his career. Robinson did it in his prime (which was early to mid career). Was Robinson a better center? Perhaps.
My only dilemma is that I would put Duncan as a top 5 C of all time. Weird. Dunno how to explain that.

Of course Tim is better than Robinson.

And how can someone even compare Wilt and Russell to Duncan? Completely different ages, and competition. Stats are meaningless.
We can discuss Kareem.

You’re too young and they didn’t have YouTube back then. So you’re forgiven if you don’t know Wilt. Plus way off topic for a Spurs blog.
Not looking to start a fight but bottom line: Russell or Wilt > Kareem. And Kareem > Duncan or Robinson.

Wilt was a shadow of his former self when Kareem was entering his prime. That would have been quite a showdown

Lets not forget that Wilt won an assist title along with his other ridiculous stats.
Now, Am I saying Wilt would get 50 PPG and 25 rpg today? Of course he fuckin wouldnt. But you gotta wonder if perhaps hed be able to knock the hell out of Dwight Howard.

I’ve seen Wilt a bit, and he was amazing even as an old fart, and I’m pretty sure he’d dominate today’s game to some extent. But how can we compare? The game was different, and Tim was a perfect fit at his position and age.

Oh, olf, check this out. And follow the link at the bottom, alam, to check some of Wilt’s record. The guy could benchpress a horse at 55.

Hey, that was great. Those guys over at Dunkin’ Cheerleaders really know their stuff.
I just remember that later in his life he was always down playing beach volleyball – with plenty of that hot bikini action (oops, can we say that here?).

Yea. Wilt was just too physically sickening. Gifted gifted big man. Ive always maintained that if he played in this age, he would, AT THE VERY LEAST be on par with the Shaqs, Duncans, and Hakeems of the world
