Around SBN: Kobe Bryant Isn't Up To Speed On Jeremy Lin, 'Linning'

Holy FSM.

Gervin has the record (33 points in a quarter). Dirk came close. People tend to mock Nowitzki (for various reasons), but you have to give the guy his due for this. A truly rare basketball accomplishment.

Who votes Dirk for Bonner and old game jerseys of Bruce Bowen?

He is a heck of a player. But then Timmeh would definately be a center, and we all know that’s not possible.

My people call it "sarcasm." - Lauri

I know you’re sarcastic, but sadly he isn’t even given that courtesy anymore. He’s listed as a center on espn PER.
The good news is that he has the best PER at the moment.

i’m pretty sure espn has listed duncan as a center for a while now.

Yeh, Hollinger had him as a C last year. I think he was second only to Howard.

It would be a shame that this German machine never reaches its potential. He would never get a ring as a Mav. When does his contract end?

by SaSleepless on Nov 4, 2009 1:29 PM CST up reply actions

I think he has two years left.

Anyway, what I never understood with Dirk is why his post up, turn around fadeaway jumper is so effective and unguardable, yet he doesn’t do it all the time. I mean, the latter Jordan did it all the time and no one could stop him. And he was only 6-6. I can only think of one explanation: Dirk doesn’t want to bang bodies in the paint. Pity.

Unlike Jordan though Dirk doesn’t play well when he is roughed up. Which is weird considering he’s German.

At least he’s not just settling for 3 pointers like he did earlier in his career. Only one of his 29 fourth quarter field goals were 3’s. The rest were him on the move/driving to the basket.

I heard that his hair scored 10 of those points by itself.

Dirk is getting better and better with age. Nice! Good for him. I felt bad for him over the summer with his courtship troubles. Seriously, poor guy.

As time passes, I am getting mellow towards Dirk and Kobe and PaulPunk et al. Gotta stop that!

Good for him, cause Durant choked like Brad Lidge with a three run lead.
