Toros Opening Night Preview/Game Thread
The Toros are being televised in the Austin market this season on Grande Communciations. Check it out if you have it because Malik Rose is the analysis guy. If you don't live in Austin or don't have Grande, they stream all the D-League games from NBA.com. Maybe they'll be picking up the television feed. Can you step up to the challenge and watch two games at one time?
Tip off is 7:30 Toros time.
That's it for the preview. Catch you guys later.

Btw, the Toros open the season with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. The Rockets affiliate. We get a double-hate of Rockets tonight.
We specialize in misinformation around here. Facts and stats just get in the way.

I might watch it mute, because otherwise I’ll record both announcers.

Toros 93, Vipers 82. It was fun—the score ended up nearly mirroring that of the major-league game between the Spurs and the Rockets. I would link to the box score, but the NBA D-League page is claiming it’s “not available.”
It wasn’t a pretty game, but there are some diamonds in the rough, most noticeably our first-round draft pick Alonzo Gee (out of Alabama) for the Toros and Antonio Anderson (out of Memphis) for the Vipers. Ball movement and distribution was pretty awful for the Toros, and they were actually lucky to win this one. Had the Vipers been able to hit free throws or outside shots, we would have been in trouble.
I like that the teams play in little mini-series—the same teams will play tonight, so we’ll get to see whether the players (and coaches) are able to adjust immediately.
