Game Thread #12 - Milwaukee @ San Antonio: The Bucks Stop Here
Milwaukee Bucks at San Antonio Spurs, Nov 23, 2009 7:30 PM CST
Yes, we do have a game tonight. And yes, it's against a team that always gives us fits. Thankfully, the Bucks don't resemble the past iterations that have given us trouble, but they're still a tough team to beat. The Spurs are gonna have to work hard for this one.
Possible Starters
Bucks
Brandon Jennings
Michael Redd
Carlos Delfino
Dan Gadzuric
Ersan Ilyasova
Spurs
Tony Parker
Keith Bogans
Richard Jefferson
Tim Duncan
Antonio McDyess
Officials
Steve Javie
Eric Dalen
Pat Fraher

Yo LatinD, I have a question for you that has nothing to do with the Spurs.
If you haven't lived with a squirrel, you haven't lived. - Bob Ross
The turbine blades in a damn. Are they machined out of a giant block? Cast and machined? Or individually made and then assembled?
If you haven't lived with a squirrel, you haven't lived. - Bob Ross
Depends on the size of the turbine, and the type. Hm, Google for images of each one, but basically:
- Pelton turbines: Usually cast and machined, and each “spoon” is individually made and then assembled.
- Francis turbines: Cast and machined, in a single block (usually).
- Kaplan turbines: Cast and machined, each runner is individually made and assembled.
There are a lot more turbines, and many sizes (those are the three more common). Do you have any specific types in mind?

No, I was just wondering after seeing the Dirty Jobs episode. I looked at those awesome blades and wondered how they were made.
If you haven't lived with a squirrel, you haven't lived. - Bob Ross
It’s incredible work. The shape is even today a valuable secret for each manufacturer. I’ll try to remember to send you some cool photos tomorrow from work. Some of the turbines have runners 4, 5 meters long.
