Interesting:
My understanding of the Spurs is that they operate on a sink-or-swim dynamic, that Popovich and Buford don’t train newcomers in the hows and whys of the Spurs’ program. Instead, those who work there are expected to catch on quickly, and figure it out on their own. If you’re smart and you work hard, then you’re a keeper who will succeed in San Antonio and go on to prosper elsewhere. The benefit is easy to see: It empowers employees to think on their own, to learn their own lessons and to provide Popovich and Buford with new points of view. They demand opinions from their workers; they don’t surround themselves with a cabal of “yes” men.
If you’re a nobody who pays attention and works hard, you can eventually become a somebody in San Antonio.

Hmm. . .Oh never mind.

The Lakers "Too big, too strong, too long, too good."
For the record, my comment was not really in response to yours but to the article itself. And I was going to say that the author is a typical “Spur lover” but I looked over some of his past stuff and realized I got him confused with someone else. So never mind.
I will say that I was surprised to read this: “The Spurs may be the least-liked organization among NBA rivals who have no connection to the franchise.” I thought my Lakers had won that category going away for years.
And though not directly Spurs related, I also have a visceral reaction to Blazer fans among others discussing how incredible Pritchard is. To me it just would be nice if they waited until they get out of the 1st round. But like I said that’s not really a Spurs’ problem.

Good points, olf. However, I think the Lakers little downturn post-KobeShaq breakup reduced the hatred slightly. At this point, I would put Presti above Pritchard (slightly), but that’s my opinion. Don’t worry though. I think the Lakers will continue to get their fair share of hate in the coming years. I’ll try to make sure that happens. ;-)
My people call it "sarcasm." - Lauri
Said Kerry: "The emphasis is on getting good guys and the chemistry. I saw that up close in San Antonio — and we didn’t always have the best talent, though obviously it helped to have Duncan and Robinson.
This “Kerry?”

Because he clearly didn’t get his shooting form from San Antone.
