Thursday 11/12/09 Loser Thread

Hello fellow PTR friends, we've got two games tonight. D-Wade and the Miami Heat (6-1) are currently duking it out with Shaq, Lebron and the rest of the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers (5-3). Anyone else think Lebron is on another 'recruiting' visit? After that, we journey to LA to watch the Lakers (6-1) host the red hot Phoenix Suns (8-1), in a Pacific Division showdown. Now think long and hard about who you vote for below. Enjoy!

Firstest. I haven’t voted yet… I know I’ll feel dirty with either choice.

The game is getting away from El Heat… 9 points down with less than 2 mins to go.

Lakers off to a fast start, Bynum back in the lineup and leading the way.

Who in the hell wants to watch a game featuring a boring parade to the free throw line? James has shot 16 FTs, Wade with 21. And they say the Spurs are boring. Sheesh.

Bron’s free throw total up to 18. It’s a superstart league.

It’s over. Cavs have this.

Cavs-Heat stat of the night:

Quentin “Pooh” Richardson: 0 points, 2 rebounds, 0 assists, 0 blocks, 1 steal, 1 turnover, 5 fouls. All in a day’s 27 minutes of work. Is that a binary code or what?

the lakers aren’t boxing out on defense, they’re all going for the boards, but not boxing out. What a horrible sequence of about 4 offensive rebounds by the suns in on play.

Well, atleast the Suns arent getting blown out. There are 3 Laker votes so far. Is olf lurking?

by Ed (dfjmed) on Nov 12, 2009 10:34 PM CST reply actions

::raises hand::
I voted for the Lakers, I figured that the lakers are going to be on top of the west by the end of the season anyways. So, if they lose, today, it won’t matter to their seeding. However, the Suns seem to be rolling and might win around 50 something games this season. If the rest of the top teams in the league do worse, then the Spurs can get the much easier number 2 seed in the playoffs, which will give us an easier/less tiresome road in the playoffs. Having the 3 or 4 seed in the west however might result in the Spurs running out of gas in the playoffs if we meet the lakers (2008). I hope i’m making sense.

by Ed (dfjmed) on Nov 12, 2009 10:45 PM CST up reply actions

you’re right. NOOCH tired us out in the second round before. I think this year, the other top four teams will most likely be the Blazers and the Nuggets, maybe the Suns if they continue playing this well, but I don’t think so.

Did Nash just invent a new way to taunt the officials? I love that guy.

okay well, Fisher shot a corner three, and Nash ran out to close, but I guess he fouled, I’m not sure if he really fouled him, but that’s not important. The official calls the foul, and the shot by Fisher goes in. However, as soon as the official blew the whistle, Nash was visually frustrated (almost pissed) and went like this.

While screaming something like, “are you blind!” or “can you see anything?!”

So, as it stands now, Lamar Odom has more assists than Nash, Jared Dudley has more points than Artest, and Kobe has almost as many rebounds as Amare.

Bynum’s size is really bother Amar’r’r’e’e. What’s interesting though is that as, expected, Bynum is guarding Amar’e while Odom is guarding Frye, but Frye is guarding Bynum, and Odom is guarding Amare. If this is how the Suns will plan on defending big line-ups, they’re gonna be toast in the playoffs. Amar’e, with his terrible couldn’t guard Duncan. How are they going to expect cookie Frye to guard him. Perhaps i’m getting ahead of myself, but having Frye guard centers is not a good idea. Bynum had 16 at the half.
