Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

That was quick.

"It is not confirmed who will assume head coaching duties but sources indicate that former Hornets forward P.J. Brown may join the coaching staff in some capacity."

Quick indeed. CP3 must’ve gone over his head and had a “talk” with the ownership.

The Spurs - now playing defense again! ...sometimes

I think this means Chris Paul is very unhappy (which is OK with me frankly). Plus it seemed like the hornuts tuned Scott out long ago.

And yes I am a 2009 World Champion Fan.

Wow, well I guess they were expecting more from this team. I don’t know why. Almost every top team in the West got better and they did not.

Man…this is the thanks you get for turning around the Nets and Hornets franchises? Geez… What’s really the problem with Scott? Does he rub players and ownership the wrong way? Not baby CP3 enough?

The Hornets roster is actually pretty stacked (CP3, Posey, MoPete, Stojakovich, Collison, West, Songaila) and I like the Okafor addition – a multi-dimensional scorer and defender, something I thought they missed with Chandler.

So where do we think Scott lands? ESPN right next to Avery?

by JustinBK on Nov 12, 2009 1:43 PM CST reply actions

I don’t think they are stacked, the have only one guy that can create his own shot, the rest are a bunch of spot up shooters with back problems.

I agree with spursfan. This is a 20-win team without Paul. Which is why i thought he should’ve been MVP 2 years ago. West is WAY overrated. Okafor is pretty good but they got nothing else but role players.

That’s why coaches get hired, to get fired. I forgot who actually said that.

The NBA Coach of the Year Award strikes again! Only one coach in the last decade has not been fired within a couple of years of receiving this award. Any guesses? Mike Brown needs to be looking over his shoulder.

Maybe not, but we do actually have natural grasses and trees, not just cacti!

this is probably why Jerry Sloan doesn’t complain about not winning it. I mean 20 years of coaching the same team, it’s gotta be that right.

…at Shaq.

Just ask Terry Porter and Stan Van Gundy how “lucky” they were to have O’Neal on their teams.

can't say I didn't see this coming

he was not doing anything to get this team to play even halfway decent thus far and was showing no signs of improving.

Better now then later on in the season when they’d be struggling to make .500 and be near the bottom of the standings. Though that’d be pretty sweet for us.

True. Scott was not working out but look who they replaced him with. This is going to be a long season for the Hornets.

Chris Paul can be playing coach. He calls the plays anyway. And as this shows, he apparently calls the shots too. He can also decide who to draft, and who to trade for. He is the complete package.
