Let's educate Bob Frantz
- In their NBA preview issue this week, Sports Illustrated says each member of the Boston threesome of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen is a lock for the Hall of Fame, and then repeats the claim for San Antonio’s Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. No disrespect intended, but if the standards for inclusion in the basketball Hall have fallen so low as to include nice players like Allen and Ginobili among the pantheon of all-time legends, then they might as well lock the doors. Who’s next, Baron Davis? Ron Artest? They’ve made a couple All-Star teams, too, so they certainly belong.
The paragraph above is from this website... http://www.sfexaminer.com/sports/Frantz-An-unlikely-comparison-and-a-curious-broken-jaw-65963467.html
First comparing Ray Allen to Manu Ginobili is blasphemous. Second, this reeks of someone who has not bothered to do even the tiniest bit of research. Here's his e-mail if you'd like to educate Mr. Frantz. bfrantz@sfexaminer.com.

That’s about the level of basketball knowledge you would expect from someone whose regular gig is writing about Golden State. . . .
Thank you for fighting the good fight, bella.

KC Jones is in the HOF, I believe as both a player and coach. The coaching pat I can understand. But a career scoring average of 7ppg, if memory serves.
Career stats
Points 5,011
Rebounds 2,399
Assists 2,908
Oh, but he has 8 rings as a player.

Ray Allen is ubsurd
but Manu definitely should be. It’s the BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME, not the NBA Hall of Fame. Manu is the best international player ever, which is why he WILL get in.

Is Reggie Miller in the HOF? I feel like Ray Allen is right below him. What are we saying is the cutoff for HOF status?

I guess a combo of consistently great career stats and various awards/championships

Yup, exactly why he’s a HOF lock.
