LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin has a broken left kneecap that could sideline the No. 1 overall draft pick for six weeks.

The Clippers confirmed Griffin's stress fracture late Monday night. The team will reveal further information Tuesday.

Griffin won't be in the Clippers' lineup when they face the Lakers in their opener Tuesday night, and the former Oklahoma star could be out much longer.

Griffin broke his kneecap during the Clippers' final preseason game against New Orleans last Friday, apparently after a dunk that left him wincing in pain.

Boy, the Clips can't catch a break, can they?

Eh, I guess I should quit being “creative” with FanShot titles.

Oh my goodness! My bad! I guess I oughta start reading the fanshots before I post. I got this mobile alert right now, and went to post. I’ll remove this one?

I read this and just KNEW that it was a joke headline, or a link to the Onion or … anything besides the truth.

I’m no Clipper fan, but this stinks!

Yea, definately not a good thing, Blake seems like a good kid with his head on his shoulders. The Clips could’ve use some of those early victories he might’ve helped them to come playoff time- not that miracles can’t still happen.

I hear they're letting fans try out for the team now.

Poor Clips and Frankie, I think that this means that they won’t be in the playoffs this year. The suns will take the 8th spot. Griffin give the team the hustler that they always needed, they have enough scorers, but not a dirty guy. Besides, they were really hit hard by the injury bug last year. That’s why he would’ve been considered a savior to the franchise even though he would’ve just been a cleaner guy IMO. Sucks for the Clips a lot.

Knee cap injuries seem to be pretty serious considering its just a small bone. Look at Bynum. And all that happened to his was a dislocation. I know a girl who broke her knee cap and she was still rehabing a year later. Granted she overweight, but still…

I think this only improves DeBeast’s chances at winning ROY, even if only for a little bit.

Strong chance for this to be a lingering injury for the rest of the year… The Clips need to take their time with this.

But they won’t. They’re the Clippers.

one would think he would be able to afford a descent bong.

Involuntary

I can’t tell you how much more enjoyable it is for me with the italics. It immediately translates the comment from being tired, annoying and bland — into being funny, clever and urbane.

Just the mental gymnastics that I involuntarily go into as soon as I know it’s intentional are hilarious. “What would a descent bong be? Perhaps one that only works on a plane that’s on a final approach to the landing strip. How would it be engineered to the point where that’s the only time it would work? Who would do such a thing?”

It’d definitely have to be some stoner engineers that comes up with the idea while sharing a doobie and say:

“dude, you what we should make, a kind of bong that gets you high but only when you’re getting low!”
“dude you totally just blew my mind”
“hey! it’s puff puff pass, mofucka! go blow your mind somewhere else if you can’t follow the rules”
