NBA League Pass free preview starts Oct. 27
Most major providers will be offering a week-long free preview of NBA League Pass (TV) starting October 27th.
I noticed that the price of broadband access was upped to a hefty $135, but at least they added full-season archives. You can also get a 7-team broadband package for "only" $90. I can't find confirmation that there will be a free preview for the broadband League Pass.
I'm going to bite the bullet and spring for the TV League Pass. It includes broadband and costs only $35 bucks more.

I’m conflicted. I want the Broadband League Pass, but I also want to get off work prior to 8PM Spurs time, which isn’t going to happen.

If you don’t live near San Antonio, get it because it will be DVR’ed for you online. You can watch the games when you get home. I think ..

Why would I ever get the broadband package when every spurs game will be blacked out for me since I live in San Antonio? They SUCK!
I really want it!

Wait, they black it out even if you pay for access? That’s pretty f-ed up, if true.

Yup, they check your IP address and black out any local teams. If you live in LA, you could watch the spurs but not LA. Since most of Spurs fans live near the TV stations, they can’t watch it on NBA Broadband LeaguePass.
Like I said, THEY SUCK!

I got the TV League Pass again for the second year. I really liked it, especially as it got closer to playoff time – kept tabs on several teams that way. Besides, here in Austin we don’t get the San Antonio stations game coverage.

I don’t know if anyone actually clicked on the link Lauri put up there. Hilarious.

I think so, but I can’t say for sure, because I can’t stand to look at it long enough to find out.

i sprung for league pass broadband again this year. but it makes a lot more sense from an international perspective than for a north american perspective, as we get a whole 3-5 games a week in TOTAL across the league on tv…and even those games that are shown on tv are never blacked out. though lack of daylight savings here in perth this year fucks with it a bit (thanks stupid morans of this state who voted no to it).

What time do the games usually take place there, srf?
by silverandblack_davis on Oct 26, 2009 1:04 AM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
theres a 13 hour difference between perth and the east coast timezone, so a 7pm eastern start over there is 8am here, and the late west coast games finish about 2pm. with daylight savings that was an hour later (so 9am through to about 3pm), which was great on the weekends – i normally go to the gym on saturday/sunday mornings, and i’d get back in time to watch most spurs games.
actually…we’re +8 GMT here…isn’t that pretty close to the philippines for time zone?

Yes it is. We’re +12 Eastern. So if you’re saying that league pass works for you, I might as well bite the bullet and get one, too. We have a channel here called “Basketball TV” that shows NBA games but if they’re not showing the Lakers, Cavs, Celtics and all those high-profile teams, then they’re showing some crappy match up like the Clippers or Raptors.

it definitely works, except for those annoying games on sunday afternoons in the US (unless you’re willing to stay up til/wake up at 3am on a monday morning), but nowt that can be done for that. i bought it last year and didn’t regret it for a second…well, i did for the first couple of weeks when their system sucked, but they got that sorted out eventually.

And those are the only games I can watch. Every game starts between 2am (7pm Spurs time) and 4am. I live for Sunday afternoon games so don’t you dare talk bad about them.

my apologies sir. us people not priviledged enough to currently live somewhere in the americas should not complain about game times, lest it would deprive a fellow non-western hemisphere person. instead, we should just bitch about those who get to see every game….you bastards!

yeah i know, hence me saying that people like himself and i, being outside the americas, should complain about you bastards who don’t have to worry about what time the game airs.

For very selfish reasons I think that sucks, since our “main man” won’t be able to “help” us find the “stuff” we need since now he can watch all “the” games. Or won’t be “as inclined” at least.
I predict a Metropolis-style scenario where the haves ( League Pass owners) will live at the top of PtR society and the have nots ( users of legal-not feeds) will live at the bottom, to be stepped on by the haves. Until we have a revolution aided by robot with laser arms (I’ve never actually seen the movie).

Hey LD, he called you “main man”. If it’s any consolation, LatinD’s planning to do something with the video thingy for the benefit of the masses and hopefully to avoid a PtR-wide FanPost/FanShot strike.

I’m springing for league pass this year. It’s the only way I’ll be able to watch the Spurs this year. Screw that BSPN Gamcast crap like I used last year every night. Now, that $90 7 team deal, is that for TV? How much for everything? Help!

135 Gs for the comprehensive international league pass package is damn expensive. Damn you, David Stern.

For some reason, NBA TV is included in my cable package now. So, I think I’m going to make do with that and the other nationally televised games. And anytime the Spurs play the Nuggets. I already shell out for ESPN Full Court each year – I can’t rationalize paying the bastards at Comcast for NBA League Pass too.

I think it’s for college games. Cap is kind of a creep and enjoys watching very young men run around the court all sweaty.

Used to have NBA TV on DirecTv, but then we switched to Time Warner and it sucks monkey balls. EVERYONE, do not get Time Warner cable. Except for their internet, it’s crazy fast.
