NBA Live 10 Simulation Preseason #6: San Antonio Spurs @ Oklahoma City Thunder in Austin

What's up you crazy Spurs fans of Pounding with the Rock. I am back once again with another Simulation of the Spurs game tonight against Kevin Durant........uhhhh I mean Oklahoma City Thunder. Just wanted to say thanks for all the love I received on my first addition of this feature that I am bringing into PTR.
For those that haven't checked it out, shame on you!
Tonight the Spurs travel to good ole Austin and the Frank Erwin Center to take on the Th-Th-Th-Th-Thunder. Hoping as if the starting lineups will be that of the ones I have played with in the simulation should be a shootout tonight.
Oh and by the way, I got Blair in the game!!!!!! He did pretty damn good. Oh and I also got a nice little treat for all at the end too.
Okay enough rambling here we go.
The starting lineups of the game that I had during my simulation:
- Us
PG - Tony Parker
SG - Manu Ginobili
SF - Richard Jefferson
PF - Tim Duncan
C - Antonio McDyess - Oklahoma City Thunder
PG - Russell Westbrook
SG - Thabo Sefolosha
SF - Kevin Durant
PF - Jeff Green
C - Etan Thomas
Since we are the road team I had to play the game in OKC. With that said the damn Thunder came out on fire. Tell you what ole EA Sports loves Kevin Durant as he was flying everywhere around the floor. Jeff Green did his share as well. Russell Westbrook is a speedster, though he doesn't match up with our Tony Parker.
The game went back and forth. I found myself setting up with some pretty good sliders that helped me come out with some pretty realistic stats. The final score was 112 to 102, the good guys.
There were times when I just couldn't believe how bad I was getting punished by the Thunder. One point in the third period they went on a pretty good run and I didn't call a timeout. The next thing I knew I was down 14!
I had to call the time out then. Virtual Pop ripped into the team and I could feel it. That is pretty scary! After the timeout I felt that I was the one letting the team down, hell I am controlling them, so I took it easy and started running some set plays on offense. We got some easy buckets and ran some pick and rolls with R-Jeff, TP, TD, Blair got into the mix. On the defensive end of the ball I switched up to a 2-3 zone. This caused them to shoot deep and the bigs for us brought down the boards and we looked to run.

Roger Mason pulls up for a three! Oh how we like it!
Before I knew it, we were within one. Roger Mason came off of the bench with solid play pouring in 20. He hit a key three pointer to put us up. From that point on we were unstoppable.
The Red Rocket also got into the mix of things as he would set up to hit a key three pointer as well when times were going really good for us. I used ball movement (just like the Spurs) to find those open shooters and they made OKC pay the price.
Richard Jefferson also had some highlights. He started the game off with a baseline slam over Kevin Durant who tried to challenge.
He finished with 14 and 4.
What about the rest of the squad?
- Our Player Stats
Parker (22 pts, 4 rebs, 8 asts)
Ginobili (8 pts, reb)
Jefferson ( 14 pts, 4 rebs, ast)
Duncan (14 pts, 13 rebs)
McDyess (8 pts, 12 rebs) - The Bench
Finley (3 pts)
Mason (20 pts, 4 rebs, 2 asts)
Bonner (12 pts, 4 rebs, 3 asts)
Blair (9 pts, 5 rebs)
We don't care to much about what the other team did right? Good cause I don't feel like typing them out, hahaha. We shot as a team 52% to their %42. We launched 13 three's and hit 4 (30.8%).
All in all it was a good game and I had fun playing it. I found myself doing the Tiger Woods fist pump a couple times when I was making the run and pulling away.
Hope you guys enjoyed it. I have talked with Wayne through email about doing these for the season so look for a poll to come up on Friday. We discussed to have these once a week with highlighting a top game of the week and I stated to hold a poll for all to see which they would like to see simmulated.
Here are the final pieces to the Simulation. Enjoy! :-)

Ginoooooooooooooooooooooobbbbiiiiiiiiilllllllllllliiiiiiiiiiiiii!

Blair and Jefferson sharing a tender moment.
But Wait there's more!!!!!

Sweet!! I love the videos! by the way, the consensus here is that Timmie can’t jump over a phone book anymore.
You didn’t tell us what you really think scoring wise. Do you think it will be that high? I think it will be around the 90s but not more.

Well they surprised me with scoring over 100 against the Cavs so I can see them doing the same against OKC if they wanna play the running game with us.
Could possibly be high 90s.
I think Durant will play really well. Against me he went for 30+. It was awesome! LOL.

Yeah, Durant will score tonight. He’s more than just at home. He’s gonna be under alotta pressure to score a lot.
This is gonna be the last or the one before the last test for the non-guaranteed players, so I don’t think pop will care about winning tonight and frankly, neither do I. I want Ian to play like his life depended on it! Will he ever do that!!!!!!

Depends
It depends on what you like and prefer. I used to be a 2K fan. But with so many changes in LIVE and seeing that they actually have done some major changes and their online is key (never down) I had to go with them. I would say of course NBA LIVE is your best bet for all.

yet another good post
I’m thinking about asking for this game for my birthday, do you think NBA Live 10 is worthy of my owning?

V- "I'm quite sure they'll say so."

YES
You won’t be disappointed. I have heard that 2k10 is just like 2k9. Really no changes.

cool
just didn’t know if it was basically the same as Live 09 or if it was the real deal.
Guess I’ll be asking ma for NBA Live 10.

Yeah bro with all the changes that was happening and went down with LIVE 10 I had to give them another shot and I must say that I am impressed with what they have done and with the Dynamic Season, it makes it that much better.

EA SPORTS actually making a game worth a damn? that’s a shocker considering how they half-assed the FIFA franchise games.

Now FIFA is by far the best soccer simulation.
But 2k10 is still the best basketball simulation.

FIFA? you know every year they bring out a game FIFA fans scream this is it! this is the one that beats Konami’s game, but it turns out as another nice looking game but that’s it. So, why should this time be any different?

they totally screwed over the Madden 10 game
that game is no more realistic than nay other Madden before it

EA is like the fast food of video games, you buy it when you really have to. Sometimes it tastes ok but afterwords, you wish you never had it.

Not a problem man. I’m not in depth write up like most of you here at PTR so anything I can do to help out.
