Blair has great anticipation to establish positioning, with uncanny timing.

What’s so impressive to me is the way his brain figures where the ball will be in the air, based on the trajectory of the shot, where it hits the rim, etc.

I remember a piece in SI several years ago about the how best rebounders get into position where the ball is about to be — they interviewed Rodman and some others and IIRC, the players don’t really know what the big deal is, because it’s just a natural function of their playing so much basketball, that they can just tell where a ball shot from that point, with that spin, will wind up.

So, when Bair talks about rebounding and says his job is to just “go get it,” well, it’s probably that easy to him — mentally, that is.

I may be banned for this, but I dare say it, is Blair the only other NBA player capable of either breaking The Big Diesel’s arm, or flipping him over while trying (Thabeetdown)? At the very least, I think he will be Pop’s big red button during a series, in which key opponent’s arms must be broken! DeJuan is a Beast! Check his averages in a link found in the newest buzz around, AT&B.

well, I don’t know why i wrote “other NBA player”, but if I had to guess, I’d agree with you, Raef Lafrentz is badass.

Well, this video was enlightening for someone who hadn’t seen DeJuan play much.
