SLAM Online Spurs Preview
"If healthy, they’ll be right there with the Lakers as one of the teams to represent the West in the Finals."
Comments
THis was a pretty crappy preview, as many of the SLAM comments pointed out (Not as crappy as the #10 Brandon Roy post on the SLAM Top 50 Players. BTW, Tony was ranked 15th, Manu 29th, as was mentioned in an earlier post. Tim is somewhere among the remaining nine, or in the top nine, I should say.)
NBA TV had a little more interesting Spurs preview, thanks to Brent Barry. I don’t know the exact link to the video, but this is a link to a Barkley video that will let you click on a host of other vids, including the Spurs preview.

The preview with Snow and Barry was great- especially the part about the free meals and golf! Of course, Snow calls Barry a “Homer” as it fades out.

I trust that this year’s edition of the Spurs will put to rest the “boring Spurs” characterization once and for all.

Nah, we’ve got a narrative about the Spurs that’s easier to repeat than write something accurate. Why would reality change that?

I agree. But you have to admit, though, that the Spurs are becoming a little bit more mainstream this season compared to other seasons. The RJ signing was really a big splash, and DeJuan Blair’s popularity is also providing a big boost to media relations.
