Game Thread # 32: @ Memphis

What the hell happened to the game thread Matt had put up? Did it dissapear?

In case the thread doesn't magically reappear maybe we can use this post as a game thread. One that will forever be remembered as the crappiest game thread post in the history of PtR.

75 words is such a difficult number to reach, one that at first you think it will be easy. But no, it is not. Razzmatazz.

Your sacrifice will not be forgotten.

by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 6:43 PM CST up reply actions

Yeah, I posted one yesterday, thinking the game was yesterday. When I realized it wasn’t, I deleted it, thinking LatinD would have one up today (no big deal that he doesn’t). Plus I misspelled platypus. How embarrassing.

Thanks for coming to the rescue Hipuks.

Shit. I was planning on doing the game thread and saw yours and then didn’t do it. It is still alive via mysa.com.

I’ll bet you went to the espn scoreboard and got fooled by the fact they forward you to the next day if there are no games for that day.

Was on vacation. It’s ATS’s time to shine. :)

Don’t look a gift feed in the mouth.

by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 7:15 PM CST up reply actions

I’m gonna listen to Dark Side of the Moon while watching the feed, see if they match.

by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 7:15 PM CST reply actions

big crowd tonite. i know the liberty bowl is also going on in town, but……..

by bones on Jan 2, 2009 7:17 PM CST reply actions

The feed makes it look like an Atari video game.

by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 7:19 PM CST reply actions

Breathe, breather in the air…Don’t be afraid to care…

by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 7:19 PM CST reply actions

7-9 down so far…Play has been pretty pixilish, but I expect it to get better.

by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 7:20 PM CST reply actions

Pink Floyd is doing a pretty good job so far.

by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 7:23 PM CST up reply actions

Tolliver is in too, oh no…

by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 7:24 PM CST reply actions

the audio is ahead of the video though

by speedostuffer on Jan 2, 2009 7:24 PM CST reply actions

Yeah I noticed, I can’t think in which other way the feed could be worse.

by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 7:24 PM CST up reply actions

yeah I’m conflicted now too. I don’t know which one to use

by speedostuffer on Jan 2, 2009 7:26 PM CST reply actions

my official paid-for nba league pass broadband is choppy as hell as well, and thats the feed that justintv link is also coming from, so i wonder if theres something wrong in general with league pass broadband…..

by sleep research facility on Jan 2, 2009 7:26 PM CST reply actions

One guy who always puts Spurs game feeds on JustinTv said his feed wasn’t working at all. I suspect a terrorist attack from Suns fans.

by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 7:28 PM CST up reply actions

they can’t beat us on the court, so they resort to this? those bastards.

That’s “ticking” of course, shame on me.

Gots to pick up the laundry, I can’t imagine what sort of exciting things I might miss in this exciting game that’s so exciting.

by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 7:32 PM CST reply actions

whoa

not to change sports on you all, but i just looked i on the sugar bowl and saw this:

utah 14
alabama 0

7+ to go in the 1st

by bones on Jan 2, 2009 7:38 PM CST reply actions

Black is white, up is down… It begs the question, though: if Utah were to defeat Alabama impressively, what logical argument could you make that they don’t deserve to be considered for the national championship? College football is so frustrating.

by LionZion on Jan 2, 2009 8:07 PM CST reply actions

Up 4 at the half, consistent with our excellent level of play.

by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 8:11 PM CST reply actions

Hey guys,

We having another ugly one?

Looks like a good 1st but terrible 2nd.

by werdnawee on Jan 2, 2009 8:21 PM CST reply actions

What’s with Mason’s 0-5?

He seems to either be the hero or have terrible shooting nights.

by werdnawee on Jan 2, 2009 8:22 PM CST reply actions

He actually made a 3 that was a half beat after the shot clock.

by Wayne Vore (ATS) on Jan 2, 2009 8:23 PM CST up reply actions

Ah..so thats what happened. I thought I saw the shot go in

by LionZion on Jan 2, 2009 8:24 PM CST up reply actions

So that won’t show up on the stat sheet, right?

considered no shot taken?

by werdnawee on Jan 2, 2009 8:26 PM CST up reply actions

yeah, don’t know why I’m asking that. (obvious)

Just trying to make conversation.

bonner vs. hakim warrick

by bones on Jan 2, 2009 8:29 PM CST reply actions

Wow. We suck. 4 seconds on the shot clock on the out of bounds play and we give up a dunk to Gasol going down the middle of the lane.

by Wayne Vore (ATS) on Jan 2, 2009 8:29 PM CST reply actions

Which feed are you on?

by bones on Jan 2, 2009 8:32 PM CST up reply actions

Do you listen to the older stuff like Meddle, Obscured By Clouds, and Ummagumma?

by Wayne Vore (ATS) on Jan 2, 2009 8:33 PM CST up reply actions

meddle and obscured for sure. still only have ummagumma on vinyl, so i dont hear it as much

by bones on Jan 2, 2009 8:35 PM CST up reply actions

I owned them ALL on vinyl except Atom Heart Mother and Piper (I had Relics instead) up through the Momentary Lapse of Reason.

by Wayne Vore (ATS) on Jan 2, 2009 8:37 PM CST up reply actions

I haven’t had the pleasure of listening to their stuff on vinyl…It’s on my to do list.

by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 8:39 PM CST up reply actions

Oh yeah, got all their stuff from the interwebs. I also love Piper at the Gates of Dawn.

by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 8:35 PM CST up reply actions

is that the release with “ibiza bar?”

by bones on Jan 2, 2009 8:36 PM CST up reply actions

I forgot to answer this one. I checked and “Ibiza Bar” is from their album “More” which is really called “Soundtrack for the film More”. I listened to it, but I had forgotten about that song. Piper is their first one, the one that has “Bike” and “See Emily Play”, it’s pretty different from their later stuff.

by Hipuks on Jan 3, 2009 4:28 AM CST up reply actions

Why does Tony suck at free throws? How can his midrange jumper have improved but not this free throws?

by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 8:32 PM CST reply actions

Honestly, I think he’s a little like Shaq, in that he doesn’t care enough. He feels like he’s a good enough player. That’s right, I’m a little drunk, and have a cold, and want to punch Tony Parker right in the face for missing too many free throws and posing shirtless with a basketball.

Can we please DESTROY this team by 3 quarter time and have a relaxing 4th??

(though that’s never the Spurs way)

by werdnawee on Jan 2, 2009 8:32 PM CST reply actions

Yet another rhetorical question. You are full of them today.

by Wayne Vore (ATS) on Jan 2, 2009 8:33 PM CST up reply actions

I am full of rhetorical questions today, aren’t I?

I always thought Time had the best lyrics.

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day.
You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way.

by Wayne Vore (ATS) on Jan 2, 2009 8:36 PM CST up reply actions

my favorite is “the paper holds their folded faces to the floor. and everyday the paperboy rings more”

by bones on Jan 2, 2009 8:37 PM CST up reply actions

I agree with Time having the best lyrics. It’s like a song of my life.

Just so everyone knows, my wife and I have discovered that 1) Franzia box wine is the best medicine for a cold and 2) RV (with Robin Williams) decreases your IQ by one point for every ten minutes you watch it.

Funny. I was going to recommend that you guys check out the Wine Cube at Target. The Cab/Shiraz blend is pretty damn decent. It is made by Trinchero which is the upscale branch of Sutter Home.

by Wayne Vore (ATS) on Jan 2, 2009 8:40 PM CST up reply actions

It’s 4 bottles for $18.

by Wayne Vore (ATS) on Jan 2, 2009 8:40 PM CST up reply actions

We’ll check it out. Thanks for the recommendation.

Catch the Spurs Spirit! It's a Fast-breakin' Fiesta!

by tomasito on Jan 2, 2009 8:41 PM CST up reply actions

How could you guys watch RV? Rent Wall-E and you will get major points with your significant other.

by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 8:40 PM CST up reply actions

I don’t need points, because we’re already married.

However, RV is her idea. We go through and record movies on the DVR, and she recorded this one. I told her “I remember the previews for this movie, it looked absolutely gawdawful.” Did she listen? No. So tonight, we wanted to watch a movie, and I gave in, but warned her that 1) it would be terrible and 2) it’s like “Jumanji,” once we start, WE HAVE TO WATCH THE WHOLE THING, as punishment for her poor recording judgment.

I think I win this round, but it’s a Pyrrhic Victory, given that the movie is on the TV making me dumber as we speak. At least I have extremely pixilated Spurs to distract me.

Catch the Spurs Spirit! It's a Fast-breakin' Fiesta!

by tomasito on Jan 2, 2009 8:45 PM CST up reply actions

The extremely pixilated Spurs game at least has a better plot than RV. So at least that’s something good.

True dat. Hey, I’m not a stoner. If I was I would come right out and say, I mean, that’s what PtR is all about, SiMA admits he like Cracker Barrel, ATS admits he’s a nerd, LatinD that he would rather watch a Spurs game then go out with his GF, I admit I like fish way too much.
We can all be our true selves here.

by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 8:57 PM CST up reply actions

I only admit that because her English’s not that hot.

(and the one before that, thx90210 or whatever it was)

by sleep research facility on Jan 2, 2009 9:13 PM CST up reply actions

That 3rd Star Wars movie pretty much sucked and was a omen.

It’s just…Not knowing when to stop….You gotta milk everything for the last cent.

by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 9:15 PM CST up reply actions

by sleep research facility on Jan 2, 2009 9:15 PM CST up reply actions

I’ll stick with A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back.

I’m watch Jedi if forced (hahaha, get it???)

I only watched The Phantom Menace 3 times at the cinemas so that it would overtake Titanic (god I have that movie and watching/paying for Phantom Menace 3 times WAS NOT worth it)

Who shot that ill advised three?

by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 9:15 PM CST reply actions

You think pop had a few words for him when he does that? Or does he have the green light to shoot?

by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 9:16 PM CST up reply actions

Words this late in the game. That 3 was early in the shot clock and when you have a big lead this late you ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY HAVE TO WORK THE CLOCK.
