Game Thread # 32: @ Memphis
What the hell happened to the game thread Matt had put up? Did it dissapear?
In case the thread doesn't magically reappear maybe we can use this post as a game thread. One that will forever be remembered as the crappiest game thread post in the history of PtR.
75 words is such a difficult number to reach, one that at first you think it will be easy. But no, it is not. Razzmatazz.

Yeah, I posted one yesterday, thinking the game was yesterday. When I realized it wasn’t, I deleted it, thinking LatinD would have one up today (no big deal that he doesn’t). Plus I misspelled platypus. How embarrassing.
Thanks for coming to the rescue Hipuks.

Shit. I was planning on doing the game thread and saw yours and then didn’t do it. It is still alive via mysa.com.
I’ll bet you went to the espn scoreboard and got fooled by the fact they forward you to the next day if there are no games for that day.

not to change sports on you all, but i just looked i on the sugar bowl and saw this:

7+ to go in the 1st

Black is white, up is down… It begs the question, though: if Utah were to defeat Alabama impressively, what logical argument could you make that they don’t deserve to be considered for the national championship? College football is so frustrating.

I forgot to answer this one. I checked and “Ibiza Bar” is from their album “More” which is really called “Soundtrack for the film More”. I listened to it, but I had forgotten about that song. Piper is their first one, the one that has “Bike” and “See Emily Play”, it’s pretty different from their later stuff.

Why does Tony suck at free throws? How can his midrange jumper have improved but not this free throws?
by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 8:32 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Honestly, I think he’s a little like Shaq, in that he doesn’t care enough. He feels like he’s a good enough player. That’s right, I’m a little drunk, and have a cold, and want to punch Tony Parker right in the face for missing too many free throws and posing shirtless with a basketball.

Just so everyone knows, my wife and I have discovered that 1) Franzia box wine is the best medicine for a cold and 2) RV (with Robin Williams) decreases your IQ by one point for every ten minutes you watch it.

Funny. I was going to recommend that you guys check out the Wine Cube at Target. The Cab/Shiraz blend is pretty damn decent. It is made by Trinchero which is the upscale branch of Sutter Home.

How could you guys watch RV? Rent Wall-E and you will get major points with your significant other.
by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 8:40 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I don’t need points, because we’re already married.
However, RV is her idea. We go through and record movies on the DVR, and she recorded this one. I told her “I remember the previews for this movie, it looked absolutely gawdawful.” Did she listen? No. So tonight, we wanted to watch a movie, and I gave in, but warned her that 1) it would be terrible and 2) it’s like “Jumanji,” once we start, WE HAVE TO WATCH THE WHOLE THING, as punishment for her poor recording judgment.
I think I win this round, but it’s a Pyrrhic Victory, given that the movie is on the TV making me dumber as we speak. At least I have extremely pixilated Spurs to distract me.

You think pop had a few words for him when he does that? Or does he have the green light to shoot?
by Hipuks on Jan 2, 2009 9:16 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Words this late in the game. That 3 was early in the shot clock and when you have a big lead this late you ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY HAVE TO WORK THE CLOCK.
