Say what you want about Charley Rosen, but he's knowledgeable and if you read him often enough, I think it’s easy to see that he’s one of the least biased basketball-only writers. So, our Spurs in general and Manu specifically, are discussed in Rosen’s latest Q&A.
It’s not so much that anything earth shattering is being discussed -- besides the use of the "T" word in conjunction with Manu. But I was interested in the fact that: a) there’s really no one out there who could be had that Rosen would swap for Manu, and b) this is another odd-numbered year – which I’d somehow allowed myself to forget.
It’s an odd-numbered year! That’s all I needed to forget all of the good/great things that our FO could have done this past offseason that didn't happen. It's an odd-numbered year, which means that Manu will undoubtably come back from his surgery without any issues. It's an odd-nubmered year, which means that Mason's performance will be a revelation, and even if Finley isn't sentenced to the bench for the duration of the season, it won't matter ... because it's 2009 -- which is a year that ends in a number that is odd.
Whew. I think I've almost convinced myself.
