Did we just lock up Maggette?

Bill Ingram writes...
"According to multiple reports this morning Maggette will, indeed, wind up in the Texas Triangle, and he could very well turn out to be the piece that gets his new team a championship. If all goes according to plan, Maggette will finally join the San Antonio Spurs, who were very much in love with him a couple of seasons ago when his last contract came up."
Sounds good to me. About time we make some waves in free agency or otherwise. Lets hear it for athleticism. I wonder if this means that we won't even try for barry?

don't jump to conclusions
Hoopsworld is notorious for “breaking” stories like this and then pulling the ones from their web site where they guessed wrong. I’d wait for two or three other sites to start reporting it before we start ordering our Maggette “Los Spurs” jerseys.

Careful….
I’m still completely convinced that the “Lost Spurs” jerseys were the reason we didn’t repeat this year. Bad mojo we don’t want to paint CM with too early.

I must apologize....
...and I agree SiMA. I hated those things and I risked the mojo to make a joke at the expense of those horrible jerseys. I was wrong and I will perform 3 Hail Icemans and drink 3 Dos Equis tonight as penance.
The only consolation was, of course, the the Los Suns jerseys looked worse than ours.

Ditto
HH just published this article about two hours later, implying that the Spurs are going to sign Ben Gordon from chicago.

That article had a more speculative tone than the former. It just said that the Express news thought Gordon would be a good target with the MLE. It also mentioned J.R. Smith and Maggette as possibilities.
I am still not going to believe Maggette is a Spur until the contracted is signed on the 9th though.

I can wait to believe it until even later if that will help.
Like, say, once he’s hit his first preseason three.

Hahaha
Doubting Thomas, huh? I’m just surprised the Spurs are actually persuing a player under 30 this offseason. We’ll see what happens.

Yeah, that would be an awful move. Ben Gordon doesn’t fit any of the Spurs’ needs.
