No! Horry to play again ...
Report: Horry to return for 17th seasonfrom: Yahoo Sports
HOUSTON (TICKER) —San Antonio Spurs forward Robert Horry said he will not retire and wants to play next season, according to a Houston television station on Friday.
The 37-year-old Horry played in just 45 games for the Spurs last season, averaging a career-low 2.5 points per game.
“I don’t want to retire, especially after a year like I had last year,” Horry told KRIV-TV. “I know I could have had a better year. My last game I want to walk off the court sweating. My last game so far, I walked off the court with a DNP (did not play) and I don’t want it to happen that way.”
Horry is famous for making big shots in the playoffs which has helped him a total of seven NBA championships. He won two with the Houston Rockets in 1994 and 1995, three with the Los Angeles Lakers from 2000-02 and two more with the Spurs in 2005 and 2007.
Horry is a free agent to be and would like to re-sign with the Spurs or return to play with the Rockets.
“My pecking order is I will contact San Antonio of course, then Houston,” Horry told the television station. “It’s not about breaking the bank. I just want the minimum. I’ve made enough money.”

people need to realize...
Although Bob doesnt have the legs or energy he used to, he brings a lot to the table. It isn’t about the points he does or doesn’t put on the board. He does many, many little things that also have an impact on the game (Cheap Shot Jokes notwithstanding). All told, i’d rather have him than Finley, any day of the freaking week. Finley is a scorer, but Bob is a guy who is good for any assortment of things down the stretch, whether it’s a block, steal, or even a foul. Personally, I welcome him back, because at the end of the day, I don’t want him hitting a big shot against us…

I realize what Horry brings...
and I am ready for him to move on. Let him hit a big shot against us. He will miss the other 3 or 4 shots he takes. If we can’t capitalize on having a 30% shooter in the game against us, then we don’t deserve to win.
I do see the little things he does. That steal on Nash was nice, but that was also a choke on Nash’s part. He is just far too slow these days to have a positive impact on the majority of plays in the game.
The fact that he wants to play so that his legacy is untarnished by his horribly ineffective play this last season only concerns me more. This sure sounds like it is all about Rob, and has nothing to do with the Spurs. What is Pop’s fascination with Robert Horry? As the rest of the Spurs age, they need some youth and athleticism to pick up the slack and not some dinosaur whose game is predicated agility. It is not like this is KT or Kevin Willis. Horry is just a fools gold type player who gets burned repeatedly, and then makes 1 miracle shot or play to get you to believe in him.

Losing a roster spot ...
He said it himself—DNP in the last game of the playoffs. Useless. Sure, a brand new rookie or young player may not get minutes, but at least he will be learning to play later. Horry occupying a slot gives no benefits if he is on the bench (and there is no reason to believe he won’t be).
If he keeps getting DNPs, it would be better for the Spurs to put me on the roster, because I don’t cost the veteran minimum.
Lastly, I’d rather see him DNP than miss another rotation to give a wide open three from a corner shooter. Or jack up a mind-numbing three with 15 seconds on the shotclock. Or gamble and lose repeatedly on the defensive end. He’s completely washed up and dilutive to our team. I hope we don’t waste a roster spot on him.

Yeah, I think you’re right about…..
........wait….... your avitar looks familiar, but yet not. Like the antithesis of good and purity and righteousness. Like some freak Bizarro avitar. Did you actually search as everyone else did, or engage in some mad Photoshop wizardry? You should put a close-up mug shot of Manu on there. Only in black and white. Straight up awesome.
I don’t even remember what we were talking about to begin with.

As much as I like the guy, it’s really time for him to hang it up.

He can come back all he wants. But the Spurs need to let him go.

Still...
you have to assume he’ll be back. We all know how Pop is…

Horry’s a cancer.
And that avatar’s a total ripoff, Zantox. :)

I got your back. Completely vented before reading your post. I should probably learn to read down first. That and tact. I should learn that too.

If you learned to read and have tact, what would you have left? You’d be a shell of a man, Leonard.

Unharnessed rage and a hatred of the little things, the helpless and the gentle creatures. That and a half-eaten bag of cheese puffs and it’s pretty much all there’d be.

My brother had this screenprinted ...
a few years ago. I just used what he did for the screen print (black and white for spurs colors … plus cheaper for the print). I did notice i was similar to yours, but it isn’t the same (the G is diff). If you want me to change it, w/e, I will

Horry should never play for the Spurs again. Plain and simple.
