The flop-o-meter has to be revised

The flop-o-meter has to be revised because CP3 just launced a new brand of flopping.

From MySA.com's Mike Finger

With 2:38 left in the third quarter, Bowen caught Paul's hand on a jump shot, and when a foul wasn't called, we witnessed what might have been a playoff first:

A dead-ball flop.

Paul and Bowen bumped into each other as both approached an official, and Paul fell backwards as if he was trying to draw a charge.

CP3 went down a few notches in my book after that sneaky move. It also calls into question the whole Bowen suspension incident. Paul was probably also just being a whiney little bitch that night too.

I don't think I've seen that before

Honestly, I know that Spurs fans are the last ones (expect maybe Phoenix fans) to complain about flopping, but that was ridiculous. A dead ball flop to try to draw a technical is pretty ridiculous, I wonder if he was thinking of that the whole time he was walking up to Bowen or if it was just a reaction when they bumped into each other.

Also, I couldn’t tell from the video. Did Bowen actually put his hip into Paul or not?

There was definitely a small bump there, but the reaction was exaggerated. I think CP3 is trying to rile Bruce up before Bruce riles him up. Hopefully, Bruce can continue to keep his cool. It’s funny because after that, some of the Hornets were trying to rile up Bruce, but Bruce just ignored them and talked to the referee.haha.

He's Manu Ginobili

I was impressed by Bowen on that play, sometimes his bullshit bothers me, because we don’t really need it to succeed, but he’s a cool customer.

Also, the one time he did lose his cool on the court, he kicked Ray Allen, so that was funny anyway. Because it was Ray Allen.

that was the exact moment

i lost all respect for anything paul had done this year. I am sickened by the fact Kobe got MVP honors after the BS he pulled on his team, organization, and city in the off-season but now im glad CP didn’t get it either.

who are you who can summon fire without flint or tinder? there are some who call me ... tim.

That seems like an extreme reaction. You’ve lost respect for anything Paul has done this year? He definitely went down a notch in my book, but he is still a really good basketball player that deserves the props he gets.

On the other hand, can you imagine the shitstorm that would follow had Ginobili, Parker, Varajeo, or one of the other “floppers” in the league pulled that move?

re:

I was thinking the same thing..I was glad that Kobe is getting it even though I hate Kobe…that pissed me off that he would try to start shit for that..also..chandler is a douche waving his finger at Bowen

The Hornets Are Starting To Become An Easy Team To Dislike

The Suns and Mavs are done. The Nuggets are pathetic. We have no history (thus far) with the Celtics.

Outside of the Lakers, who can we hate anymore? Maybe these guys.

Chris Paul does something every time we play them that ticks me off. He’s a fabulous player, but a bit of a punk. West has this big chip on his shoulder and seems to always get in scraps with tall foreign white guys. Tyson Chandler might do something dumb before long and you know Bonzi Wells is a certifiable maniac.

Not too thrilled with coach Scott either. Shut the fuck up already and don’t everevereverever talk to The Exception without his permission.

And please, show us your rings again. Oooohhhh, Finals rings!! By the way, Coach? Do you have any other motivational message besides just whipping those things out, or is that pretty much it?

I kind of get a punk vibe from Paul as well. However, I don’t think this flop is any reason to dislike him. It’s part of the game. I just think it is another reason that the next time anybody says they don’t like the Spurs because they are a bunch of floppers we tell them to shut the fuck up.

flopping in the NBA is becoming as bad as euro-league and/or world cup soccer.

everybody does it. agreed on the punk vibe from paul – i do think there is a chance for guys like he and west to grow up as they get older though, which is way more than i can say for a bunch of bitches in this league.
