We have one more chance
Today sucked..... i cant even explain my pain of seeing how my beloved spurs lost another big chance.
What kills me is that the famous Celtics-Lakers finals all the media/Stern/idiotic fans wants to see is about to happen...... then i saw this:
Pistons 2 - Celtics 2
I know you think this is lame, but GO PISTONS GO!!
Destroy the celtics, then the lakers... i know you can do it... for the name of basketball and whats left of decent humanity in the world... please ruin everyones party, spit their meals, have sex with their wives.... please DO IT, silence the fuc**king media, do it AGAIN, silence those bandwagoners lakers fans like in the 2004 (btw not all lakers fans are shit, some of them truly apreciate basketball but most are mediocre people who just follow the most popular team)
I was dreaming of another Spurs - Pistons finals.... i really respect Detroit, they deserve another championship, it would be good for the league that a team of good management, intelligent at drafting wins it all, instead of a team like the Celtics or Lakers that robbed stupid GM's and lured away stars just because they are popular...

I’ll cheer on LA if we lose, just because of my family there.

I’m most confused by the way you used the astericks in “fuc**king.” Why? Why even use them at that point? Is it actually a much bigger word that I’m unaware of? What does it mean? If you meant it as a curse, my eyes were able to look beyond those two astericks and get offended by the word. Had you left out a ‘k’ or a ‘u,’ I at least wouldn’t have known it was a swear word.

"...is it actually a much bigger word..."

Everytime the Spurs pass the ball like that, an angel gets its wings. - Hipuks in G6 vs NOOCH
I have said why I can't root for the Lakers
I just can’t cheer Jackson and Kobe, not after what Kobe has pulled the last 2 years on his own team, and Jackson just is the luckiest SOB alive that happens to be involved in basketball. If they win another one, then we will NEVER hear the end of it from the bandwagon fans—fortunately we haven’t inherited any of those in this series….
I will cheer for whoever comes out of the East, I hope it’s the Pistons :)

Poor Sportsmanship? Please define, I am lost....
Because Pop doesn’t stoop to Jackson’s level (remember the mid-game interview, why Jackson does NOT get fined by the NBA for directly stating it, I don’t know) and because it’s true that Kobe quit on his team not 1 time, but 2 times in the past 2-3 years?
I just have this really bad feeling when people-regardless of sports or whatever-up and quit on thier “team” be it the one they work for, or play for, for petty and / or selfish reasons. That’s why I can’t cheer for thier coach or star player, and if you can’t cheer for either of those 2, I just don’t see cheering for the team at all.
To keep it in sports, I suppose...you will never see Duncan, or Jordan back in the day, or Garnett, or any of the Pistons (since they operate as more of a "team" than anyone, even the Spurs at times), or Boozer/Williams, or Paul, etc. etc. scream bloody murder, rip apart thier front office, cry and demand trades non-stop, bemoan and belittle his own friggin' teammates, and then when they pull of something great act like it never happened. (not touching the Game 7 vs. Pheonix, that's it's own can of worms). Closest thing to that was Allen Iverson demanding a trade from the Sixers (when you consider star power, etc), and no one sure roots for him that much.
As for Jackson, he even came out and wrote a book ridiculing Kobe, and Shaq, and the whole Laker foundation, and ripped it to shreds. Then he comes back like “oh, nothing happened…that book? My evil twin wrote it!! Yeah!!” And the fact that when the Lakers win he acts all smug like it was ordained, and when they lose it was ANYONE’s fault but thiers…the refs, the lighting, the floor being slick, whatever. He hardly ever gives cred to the other team, unless it’s something like “oh, they beat us, yes…but not as much as we beat ourselves. If we don’t beat ourselves, we never lose.”
Just take last night’s game for the difference in teams….Jackson rips the refs MID-GAME, and after the game, when even the NBA itself was like “that was a foul, oops, sorry” Jackson was sitting there smiling and saying “oh, it happens.” I guarantee you if Bones had jumped into Fisher with the Spurs up by 2 points, and had the Lakers been playing awful but only down 2, and no foul called? Jackson would have been livid, and probably fined LOTS of cash for ripping the refs left and right. We all see how the Spurs handled thier “whip cream on s(&.” :)
But, to make a long post longer, I will give a LOT of props to the fans, such as yourself pslakerfan, I luv ya, and esp. to Jack Nicholson. Man, if we only had a die-hard fan like that. (star power, etc. again).... I was giddy when Detroit whipped up on the Lakers in 04, but then during the post-game cast, Nicholson used his star power to get on the air, and personally congradulated the Pistons and thier fans for beating his Lakers. THAT is class, and I will never diss the true fans or him at all.
I’m not giving up on the Spurs, the Lakers have lost 3-1 leads before, the Spurs played them close 3 outta 4 games, even when 2 of those games they played like crap at least 1/2 of the game, and it’s only been last series when the Spurs were against a similar wall, and came out on top. BUT should the Lakers win, I just can’t root for them…sorry :(

I like Jack too, but wouldn’t trade Jack and Tobey McSpiderman for Tommy Lee Jones and George Strait any day of the week. Add Eva for the ‘hotness’ factor to counter Dyan Cannon, and I’m content with what we have.

argh
part got cut off, basically you won’t see any “captain of thier team”, etc. like Duncan, Jordan back in the day, Garnett, anyone just rip thier team to shreds, cry bloody murder, demand trades, rip the front office, bemoan and belittle his own teammates, like Kobe. And he’s done this 2x now, all part of last year’s playoffs, during the offseason, and again after Bynum got hurt. Then the Lakers pull off a minor miracle and all of the sudden everyone’s like “OMG Kobe’s the man!!” and act like nothing’s happened? Doesn’t sit well with me at all.

No wonder you didn't respond to my post on the other thread...
You sure are passionate, my god how many words was that? Ha. Anyway I was talking about rooting for the East that is all, I don’t care why you hate the Lakers, I just think you should keep it in the conference.
I think you were comparing Duncan’s level of class to Jordan’s? If so, I couldn’t disagree more. Jordan was a horrible team mate, just ask Phil Jackson. I thought everyone knew this.
As for Jackson’s mid-game comments, I did not hear them because I was making dinner last night and was not listening to a lot of the commentary. I assume from the posts that I have read that he was complaining about the officiating. Like I said I cannot comment as I did not hear.
Funny you should mention Phil’s book as I was reading it today. Had to get oil change and car wash, thought it would kill some time.
I know nothing of Kobe ripping the team after Bynum’s injury, could you elaborate?
As far as rooting for one or the other I think Horry is the worlds worst flopper, I think Bowen is the dirtiest player in the league and I wanna puke when Duncan gets that damned “who me” look on his face every time he gets whistled, but I still will root for you guys over the Celtics. I guess it is just two differing philosophies.
Jack is a great fan, but in fairness there are a few other celebrities that are great Laker fans. (Some of the ones you see are just there for the exposure). In no particular order I would say Dyan Cannon, Penny Marshall, Andy Garcia, and Flea are the best. Flea has his own Laker blog and he is quite the knowledgeable fan.
Oh and yeah last but not least, love ya back. God the Laker blog is gonna kill me. :-)
Whoooooo!

Ok I will never do that again, reminds me of that NO Arena…..ew. Ric Flair needs to die.
Aye, the “Duncan Face” (—as much as I’m a Spur fan, that’s hilarious….
Horry is the worst flopper : http://youtube.com/watch?v=8ukde193ivM (— I laugh still right now on this. Boozer’s face (and words) are right on.
Bowen : well I won’t put links up, there are too many….but to be fair, Kobe never has called him dirty, and Bowen is pretty much THE one player in the NBA known for his defense….and that’s it. So of course he will be singled out more than anyone else for plays that are borderline.
I placed Duncan next to Jordan simply because Jordan is who Kobe, et. al are trying to supposedly emulate, and no one can shut up about. Jordan would never had come out and ripped teammates, destroyed orginization, etc. As for Kobe post-Bynum, I’ll look on ESPN, they had asked Kobe about all of his demands after Bynum got injured, and he was like “well, that’s that. This team is going nowhere again. They can’t get anything.” (This was after he did about 5 min. of praising Bynum non-stop, to be fair).
"This team is like a bunch of cockroaches. They just don't die!" -Charles Barkley, after Game 7 vs. the NOOCH.
I just don’t remember the post Bynum injury Kobe thing, but I will take your word for it. I think we can all agree that Kobe is a fairweather teammate. I do know that I have heard numerous times that Jordan was worse. Albeit privately.
That Horry flop is my favorite, next to the Bowen karate kick on Szczerbiak.
You’re right on with Jordan; had he been less than the game’s Babe Ruth we’d be hearing FAR more about the poor teammate he was.
Kobe has actually gone further, saying before that he didn’t believe Bowen to be dirty and that no one plays him better. I know this for a fact, because it’s the only thing keeping me from hating Bryant. He seems to give respect where respect is due and regardless of personal feelings about the man, that’s impressive in today’s game.
We actually feel no shame whatsoever about the Wally-kick. In fact, we’re quite proud of it. If I ever meet Wally, it’s going to be very difficult for me not to drop kick him in the jaw as well..
