The &#@*&%^#@ Lakers

It's been 4 years since the Lakers have been relevant (an eternity in NBA time). And I realized while thinking about the upcoming series that my hatred for the Lakers has dimmed during the last few years. In order to prepare for the Wednesday night, I need to be reminded of all the reasons why we hate the Lakers. Here is a partial list of things that I remember:

Shaq's disrespect of David Robinson

Phil Jackson and his publicity antics

The Colorado Cassanova

Kobe's elbow on Ginobili

Their overrated, bandwagon jumping fans.

Everything is fair game: players, coaches, team officials, history, uniforms, stadium, city of residence, fans, style of play, etc. Help me relight the fires of my hatred once again.

Too funny. I went to Pollackj’s work website and thought what a wonderful thing they’re doing… but you know, everyone’s got a dark side.

I will say one thing about Kobe, he never bitches about Bowen being a dirty player. He respects Bruce and I think he even looks forward to the competition.

The asterisk, man!

Can’t believe you left phil’s “asterisk” off the list! Oh well, I agree other teams (like the mavs and suns) have taken up most of my hatred the last few years, but I always have some stored away for the team from l.a.

My dad and I are probably going to have to watch the game on two different TV sets, lol!

... and now that I think about it, we got a couple of shots in too. We turned out the lights on the Forum, beating them on their last game there on the way to the 99 championship. The Spurs also ended the reign of the three-peat Shaq-Kobe Lakers.

Things I respect (begrudgingly) about Kobe
1. Trying to emulate MJ
2. 81 point game against the raptors
3. Not complaining too much about the really really hard fouls he received from the likes of Raja Bell and Bowen.

Things I hate hate about Kobe
1. Trying to emulate MJ
2. not taking a shot in the second half of the playoff game against Suns in 2006(?) – the fuck was that??
3. complaining, whining and generally being an ass to his own teammates and organization.

I really think he’s a soulless douche.
