Are you too wound up? Are the three days off going to kill you?
Then distract yourself by following the ACB -- that's the Spanish league -- playoffs. Tiago's team Tau Ceramica goes today against Pamesa Valencia
Go to the ACB site.
The games are listed on the left. While the games are going it usually says something along the lines of "in progress" in Spanish. They have a pretty decent gamecast that you can follow, I think.
After the game, click on the score to see the box score.

For those out of the loop, in the only game played so far, the top seed Real Madrid who dominated the regular season got crushed by Unicaja 89-73. It’s a best of 3 series.

today is kind of a wind down day for me, but after that i am going to try and get away from it for saturday and sunday. my innards need the break.
besides that i am very thankful that the game is on monday because my brother is graduating from college and that whole thing is gonna put me on the road and jam up my whole weekend. works out quite well for me actually.

I thought Tau already got beaten in that game where tiago shot 7-14 from the line. Is this a different playoff? Help and uncultured spurs fan out!

Help is on the way. Tiago’s 7-14 was in the Euroleague semi-finals game against CSKA Moscow. The ACB is the Spanish League.
To the best of my knowledge, here’s how it works. There are a bunch of domestic leagues in Europe. By domestic, they are usually, but not always within a specific country. There’s the Italian League - where Manu played, the Adriactic League, the French League, etc. I think there is a German League and a Russian League. The Spanish League is considered the best of the domestic leagues. The best teams from the domestic leagues also participate in the Euroleague - which started like 15 years ago or something I think. The site is in English.
Both the domestic leagues and the Euroloeague play simultaneously. The ACB plays on the weekend, usually Saturday. The Euroleague plays during the week, usually Wednesday. The Spanish League finished there regular season playing 34 games over 34 weeks. In the Euroleague, Tau played 24 games or so.

Euroleague is celebrating 50 years of operation this year. A tad more than 15 :)

Good suggestions, I slowly developing an interest (that comes right before support, then fan-ship, then love, then adoration, then Manu-man-crush) in Tiago and am excited to see what we bring next season.
In going with the ‘keeping yourselves busy’ over the next few pre-game 7 days and alluding back to Powell’s post from this past week- Has everyone but me seen ‘There Will Be Blood’ already? It was one that just feel through the cracks during my Manu-man-crush on ‘No Country For Old Men’ and I never had time to see it but always wanted to. It reeks of my kind of movie. Just wanted quick feedback (this after all NOT a movie review blog) on the movie before I purchase and watch it this weekend. Worth it? Thoughts?

No country was definitely the best movie last year, but there will be blood was my favorite of the year. Lucky for me they came out on DVD around the same time and I got em both. DDL’s performance alone is worth it. It’s a bit over the top at times, but in a great way and just watching DDL’s character slowly decend is truly fascinating. I don’t to say much more for fear of spoilers, but it is a very good and original/unique movie.
I highly reccomend it!

No Country was amazing. When Javier’s character is on screen, you tense up like just like you did when you first saw Hannibal Lecter in silence of the lambs. Great movie.

eh, no country was alright. i admit javier’s character was definately creepy and intimidating, but it seemed like brute force. with hannibal, you have a cannibal that is 3 times smarter than you are, who is creepy and intimidating.
i can’t say no country was the best movie (i havent seen there will be blood) of the year, but in any case, no country isnt even close to silence of the lambs. that movie was history in my opinion.

Really?
Well No Country did win an Oscar and a Golden Globe for best picture so I know I’m not alone on my thoughts. Also, I wasn’t comparing No Country to Silence. I was comparing the psychopathic killers and how they both send chills up your spine. I work in the film industry so I guess I might veiw films differently than most. There Will Be Blood is a great movie as well.

Speaking of crazy killers and chills, you might want to watch “Sexy Beast” with Ben Kingsley if you haven’t seen it.

That’s a great film…not quite a killer flick like No Country and Silence, but great nonetheless.

I think the “quirk” in the scheduling happened because EVERYONE and thier dog in the NBA, odds-makers, etc. thought that the Lakers and Spurs/whoever would finish thier series in 6 games, not 7. Game 1 of the WCF was supposed to be on Monday, not Game 7. Thus the time off.

Series tied 1-1
Tiago put up 23 and 13 in the loss today on the road.
The top seed, Real Madrid, is out after a second loss yesterday.
