D'Antoni to fire Marbury, take heart of Suns team to NYC
I hate to give this man recognition, but wow.
First, D'Antoni mans up and threatens something no one in NYC had the balls to suggest, even after Marbury repeatedly made like Eric Cartman and said "screw you guys, ahm goin' home."
Second, D'Antoni declares his intent to gut Phoenix. At this point, Nash = Jason Kidd or even Shaq, in terms of value ... old with nagging injuries. Barbosa and Diaw represent extremely talented players who will keep getting better with time. The Suns stomped us when these two played well, esp. Diaw in Game 4.
Too bad they will never learn good defense up in NYC. We'll see if D'Antoni can pull this off and if Steve Kerr is stupid enough to bite.

EDIT Quote of the day:
" One of the first plays Mike D'Antoni is expected to draw up as the Knicks' new coach is for Stephon Marbury to run up the Garden floor ... and out the door back to Phoenix to rejoin the Suns "
Talk about not doing Steve Kerr any favors. I HATE Marbury. He's up there with Billy Bob.

Before D’Antoni left, and i mean like the day right before, Nash was quoted as saying:
“This is the last thing I’m going to say about our coaching situation: Mike’s my coach,” Nash told the Associated Press. “So I expect to see Mike back here next year. And I know there’s a lot of stuff going on, but Mike’s my coach. I love playing for him. I expect to see him back in October.” azcentral.com
I don’t how much you guys read into that but my Steve Wonders is if Nash would follow D’Antoni to another team. Would he demand a trade? Would Kerr give in? A younger Marbury for an old Nash? I mean, Kerr did trade Marion for Shaq. Im just saying.
who are you who can summon fire without flint or tinder? there are some who call me ... tim.

Is Kerr ready to gut the Suns and give up on Nash, Stoudemire and Shaq? I see no reason for him to help out D’Antoni out by taking Marbury off his hands. The Suns could still be a playoff team under Carlisle. I imagine Kerr will keep Barbosa and Diaw and tell D’Antoni to look elsewhere. Didn’t Phoenix trade their 2009 or 2010 pick (not lottery protected)? They don’t want to go into tank mode yet.

Carlisle is the Mavs’ coach, not the Suns’ coach.
