Is Ginobili hurt?
I kept thinking that there was no way that Ginobili plays like he did last night in a game that important if he is not hurt. Anybody got a clue what's going on?
| Manu Ginobili, SG | 27 min |
2-11 fg |
0-2 3pt |
4-5 ft |
0or | 3dr | 3tr | 0a | 2s | 0b | 1to | 4pf | 8pts |
Ginobili come up with a line like that? No way. What ever he has hurt, I hope that it's better by Saturday.

He’s is a little banged up, but dude is a warrior. We all know that and he’ll be big in the next series.

it looked as if he was kind of hobbling a bit in game 3, i thought. i think some other PtR folks might have mentioned it too.
it didnt look very bad – and nobody has reported even the hint of it in the press. my guess is that he probably is a little banged up, but hopefully the two days of rest will help him through the first couple of games in new orleans. havent seen the schedule for the next series, but i gotta think there will be at elast one more stretch of two off days between games as ours is the first of the second round to be scheduled.
will be very anxious to see the upcoming sked so that i can get the rest of my life planned around it…....

He’s hurt, and should have been held out for either game 4 or 5. It may be heresy, but unless Manu is 100%, I’d hold him out for game 1 at NO.

Agreed
MUCH better for down the road, and it’s a win-win psychologically for Pop. (Sidenote- Although I like him and think he’s a highly underrated coach, I can’t wait to see Pop again destroy Byron Scott like a rented mule.)

Agreed on the Byron Scott underrating – but I’ve had an irrational dislike for him ever since the finals vs. the Nets.
Granted, NO has talent, but they’ve got a couple of guys who have reputations as being difficult to coach… Tyson Chandler for starters. Looking back, I realize that he made Kenyon Martin look as if he was actually part of a valid offensive scheme, and that helped K-Mart into a max-contract he didn’t even come close to deserving. That’s just plain impressive.

I think you guys are right. It’s the ankle and groin and we need this guy at 110%. I’d hold him out of practice, have him suit up, and not play him in Game 1.

Oh, regular-season-Manu, you were so amazingly terrific that I weep to think of the beautiful sweepings that could have been ours in the first round if Pop had been able to rest you for the last 3 weeks before the playoffs. Please send a get-well card to playoffs-Manu and tell him that I send him my best.

If I’m the coach, I hold him out of practice, but play him on game day. His presence is needed in every playoff game. Besides, Manu wouldn’t want to sit anyway. I think 3 days of treatment and rest will have him ready to go on Saturday.

manu wont sit unless in a wheel chair…..and do we have anything to base his relative health on? we can all see that he might not be 100%, but what are othe robservers saying (i mean the folks that cover the spurs in the media every day)?
he could be just fine for all we know…...

Sit Manu in the playoffs? No, guys, no. We have to start winning. Maybe sit him if we’re 3-0, but otherwise he has to play. At least while there’s a choice. He spreads the floor just by being out there, at the 3 point line. He can miss all day and teams will still run to cover him.

You said that you were a scrappy Argentine—now I believe it! I agree, can’t hold him out of game 1 when he’s still contributing. Game 5 last round was tough, but he still helped out in the win.
