Tim Duncan Owns
That is all. Before that, Here is Finley's game-tying three pointer to send the game to the first overtime:
Take that. Nobody ever tell me again that Tim doesn't have it anymore. The guy is just phenomenal. Manu is awesome, Tony is great, and Bruce, too. But Tim is the man. He's the leader of this team. Where he goes, so do the Spurs. Man, I love Timmy.
And Manu finishes.

absolutely frickin incredibe.
but heres a question for the best defender on the Suns, Raja Bell. Bell is a good defender, he slaps and plays dirty just as much as Bowen so it always makes me laugh when the Suns complain about Bowen because in my opinion Bell is worse and less classy than Bowen, but whatever. But for the question: everyone who has ever watched a spurs game knows Manu goes 2 directions, left and lefter, so why the hell didn’t Bell and the other Suns force him right? Granted Manu wasn’t going to miss whether he went right, left, or upside down he knew he was going to win the game, but still Bell let him get within 3 feet of the basket. And while that shot looked as hard as hell and i’m sure it is for 99% of the league, this is freakin Ginobili and he only takes those shots. He wants to shoot like that. Seriously for all this talk about how Bell has shut Manu down (and he does do a decent job on him from time to time) Manu owned him in those ot periods, and it was a glorious thing to watch. I just can’t believe the Suns best defender let the best finisher in the league go right where he wanted to go – but i guess thats what makes Manu the best.

Well...
You also need to remember that there is no way Bell can foul in that situation. Manu drove to the rack to either draw contact or make a game winning shot. Basically Bell was at the mercy of Manu. And to his credit, he made Manu alter his shot and fade away from the basket. And thats what great defenders do. Manu just hit a clutch shot…sickness

true
That’s true. Even in the postgame, Manu said it helped a lot knowing that a) the defender didn’t want to foul, and b) If he got by Raja, there was no big body down low to block the shot. It was still freaking awesome. But it happened so fast and I was still recovering from Timmy’s three that I didn’t realize the Suns had no more time. =p

X's and O's
There’s a great analysis here on Manu’s layups in the 2nd OT:

Look closely...
Great post by the way. I want you to look closely when I say “Bell was at Manu’s mercy”. Scrub through the vid to 39 seconds. Look at how Manu makes an initial move. (40 sec mark) Bell instantly drops his left foot backwards to force Manu right. At this exact moment, Manu hesitates, forcing Bell to square up his feet again. (41 sec mark) The moment Bell’s feet are square, Manu explodes past him on the left side…. (42 sec mark) Manu is even with Bell, driving to the basket. And you know what they say… “If you’re even, he’s leavin”. Manu then elevates, fades away to prevent a block and hits the leaner for the game.

So it’s another tough Monday at work, and I’m frustrated. I get on PTR and go back to this post…... I calmly watch the videos once, twice, thrice, four times.
Suddenly, it’s no longer just another shitty day. All is again right with the world, and I’m extremely happy. We really kick ass, and I love the SPURS.

Heh. I know that feeling, Sgtin. Let’s hope that our Wednesday at work is just as merry.
